And don't get me wrong, I love rap, and it is a true skill and talent, which I'm sure a lot of us reading here possess. It's enjoyable, and unlike a stigma, it isn't just people talking about stupid shit. What I'm saying is, although it's own thing, it's latching onto much higher forms of art to try and propell itself into a different image, and it doesent have the elements to actually be associated with those art forms.
Graffitti associates with Painting. Hip Hop Dancing associates with Ballet etc....Rap does NOT associate with poetry. Finally, understandable wording lmao, and unlike the previous two I mentioned, does not deal with self expression. If it did, we'd have a more diverse financial background, a wider and non sterotypical type of character and style, unlimited amounts of topics and everything that would come with poetry. Poetry isnt a culture, so you don't have to be or do anything, unlike rap
