I’ve never done a 10 rep max on deadlifts. I pretty much never go above 5-6 reps on DL’s. Used a rep calculator based on my one rep max and it would be 400lbs x 10 reps.

Deadlifts are the most taxing exercise on the body. Deadlifts don’t suit everyone’s leverages. Some are better off sumo deadlifting or even using a trap bar. Learning the sumo deadlift if you’re constantly injuring your lower back with regular dl’s is the way to go. Puts you in more of an upright position which takes tension off the lower back and makes it more quad dominant.
