Are you saying that your being champion is beneficial to the site? Laughable.

But, let's go with that logic. Prove it by being a defending champion.

Edit: The people clearly wanted it then. Give it to them now. You've got all the champion advantages. What's stopping you?

And to make it more exciting, we can do loser gets a name change and user title for 1 month of the winner's choosing.
