I'll summarize what I said to NOBLE here real quick: I feel like a lot of similarities are present in regard to how families were detained by the previous administrations and the Trump administrations. A lot of them are trying to flee a lot of the atrocities of their homeland, but I feel trying to go about this the legal way would be much more of an aid to them than what most are trying to do when it comes to coming over illegally. Which goes in to the next point that NOBLE made: it isn't feasible at all for a family who is trying to seek protection, which is where the U.S. needs to step its game up when it comes to helping these families. The problem is that a lot of these families are getting put to the side because of illegal immigrants with criminal backgrounds are coming and causing a lot of the same issues that they caused in their native country, so that causes another can of worms to get opened.
As an aside: I feel putting children in cages is torture. That is completely unacceptable and it should never be tolerated no matter the circumstance. We have the means to provide much better sheltering for families to where something like this should NEVER occur.
