Are you asking strictly about the backlash that Trump has received or the actual problem itself? I personally feel like there is no real winner in this situation: The separating of families is never a good look no matter what the actual circumstance might be, but I feel like a lot of the illegal immigrants are cheating the system by using their kids as an excuse to get in to the country. It's really a lose-lose scenario at this point for a situation that shouldn't be this complicated (trying to go about the process legally shouldn't be a complicated matter, either, but for some it's an issue that's completely out of their hands.)

As far the backlash towards Trump? I feel like he's catching a lot of the heat over a policy he didn't put in to place. The prior administrations were doing the same exact things that he has been suggesting, but there was no outrage towards it in the slightest, so I feel people are being a bit hypocritical about it now when they stood in silence towards the same issue years ago.
