I honestly don't care who sends first either. Left is considered the sender only for deadline purposes---meaning if neither side has sent by 11:59PM Eastern on November 17th, then Left will be considered to be the one who no-showed and Right will get the automatic win. However, if the people on the right want to send first if your opponent is taking too long, you're more than welcomed to.
