I've never seen or heard of an animal deliberately committing suicide due to being in so much pain. When pets are put down, its always the owner's or some other human's decision. Humans differ from animals in the sense that we can and do choose to end our own lives at times. I'm not asking about mercy killings or making the decision for someone else to end their life and put them out of misery. I'm talking of assisted suicide where the person makes that decision to die on their own (with assistance).
