60 million was a lot of money, like u said @
Just C. ManU was desperate for a spark. However, I disagree with you that Di Maria is simply a "cast off" for Real. Madrid has the luxury of selling a player of Di Maria's caliber & not miss a beat. They knew what they had in Di Maria, the guy was amazing last year: 63 matches, 4 goals, 17 assists!!!! That doesn't even take into account the 6-7 PKs he won & wasn't allowed to take the shot. You have to plan for him on the counter attack & he's a threat in the box...
He's top shelf goods. Madrid saw an opportunity to get Rodriguez who is: 6 years younger, just as fast & probably a better goal scorer. So they jumped on it. Di Maria is reaching his peak right now, James has another 5-6 years before he reaches his.. Di Maria might be slightly overvalued by 8-10 million, but I guarantee you he will be one of the best players in England this year...
Top 5 transfers all-time
Bale - 86 million (2013)
Ronaldo - 80 million (2007)
Suarez - 75 million (2014)
Neymar - 71.5 million (2014)
James - 63 million (2014) had a fee of 38.5 million when he went from Porto to Monaco
BPL transfers:
Di Maria - 59.7 million
Torres - 50 million
Luiz - 50 million
Aguero - 38 million
Mata - 37.1 million
Sanchez - 35 million
Carroll - 35 million
Hazard - 32 million
Costa - 32 million
Di Maria is BY FAR the best player of the BPL bunch. To be honest, I think he's better than James Rodriguez right now. But James will be the better player in the future, that's y they sold Di Maria...
