Define "weightlifters"? Surely a weightlifter is anyone who lifts a weight. There are two terms commonly used:
Powerlifting: Training for Strength
Bodybuilding: Training for Aesthetics
Although Bodybuilding in recent years has become more of a 'The Biggest, Most Shredded Guy Wins'. Hence there is now the Male Physique competition, dedicated purely to aesthetics.
Yes, Powerlifting does have a who can bench press the highest challenge. The three main lifts in powerlifting are the deadlift, squat and bench press. You're confusing those Worlds Strongest Man competitions with regular Powerlifting.
