I hate being a skeptic.
 

This started when I joined college. There was a hypnotism show on and everyone was doing crazy things. In my mind, hypnotism isn't real, so when all my friends were saying that it was real and that I was wrong, I got bored and unimpressed, while they had an awesome time. I later proved it wrong by talking to the people involved, but still..

And now, Dynamo has a TV Show on Watch. He's like a rip off of Chris Angel, but better. Anyways, I watch this with people who are mesmorized, yet I know it's staged. He is doing things like asking a random dude for a glass bottle, getting it, and then twisting it and giving him it back. This is against scientific reality, and therefore must be staged. I know this, it's obvious to me, but everyone else loves the show and is amazed by what he does. It's ruined for me.

Anyone else get this shit?

Nah...I don't believe shit anymore. The older I get the more cynical I get..... even to my beloved conspiracy theories. Hypnotism didn't work on me.... and I did it in a controlled setting w/ a professional, none of this live show crap, it was supposed to bring back sense memory.... I'll just stick to dropping acid and watching Fantasia.

Well I believe hypnotism as in putting someone to sleep. I dont believe it as controlling someone's mind.

I once had a street performing magician show me a "magic trick"... he showed me a card from his deck...made me write my name on it with a sharpie....then he did his alakazam shit on it...and all of a sudden the shit was in my wallet. Now logically, I understand he had a partner that is a good pickpocket, and they got me while I was distracted with the cards shuffling, but all my homies were bugging like the dude was Merlin or something. I mean, props on the slight of hand. But prestidigitation is not magic.....

Well, card tricks are different. The dudes can do man slight of hand. Pen and Teller do that shit all the time, and do it in front of you, no pick pocketing. Card tricks are usually real, but just with method and skill.

That's what I'm saying.... to me, all that shit is slight of hand. If you quack like a duck onstage cuz some fool told you too...... it's because you wanted o be part of the show. I did a past life regression with a therapist once who attempted to use hypnotism on me..... Her voice was relaxing.....but not for one second was my consciousness altered, expanded, or affected. I didn;t even get sleepy. I'm telling you...the only magic in the world is mind expanding drugs and meditation.
