Grindtime just keeps getting bigger and better

The new GT Detroit division run by GT regular Quest Mccody holds it's first ever event some time in the next week or so .... a last minute battle just got added to the line up

Quest McCody v Kuniva from D12

It was only a matter of time before a main stream artist stepped in the ring since most of them follow the battle scene .... you know other D12 members are gonna be there and hopefuly this opens the door for others to step in the ring ... i don't think for a second Eminem would ever do it again .... but i'm sure other main stream artists might give it a go if this goes well ... whatever way you look at it .. it's a great look for GT

plus URL had just anounced they had the first ever mainstream artist lined up to battle ... so GT's kinda jumped in and beat em to it .. lol ... but still ... thats just even more shit to look forward to... pretty crazy shit really.

Lol UA. I'm sure you saw the shit about Eminem doing GT? I lol'd.

but on a side note this is a REALLY good look for Hip Hop.

on another side note; "Straight Spittin"..which is an app for Android that allows you to battle other people from across the world, freestyle, written, etc...

Will host a "celebrity appearance" on Jan 7th or 8th from 7 PM - 10 PM

I honestly don't see the advantage of a recording artist doing street battles.

Lmao ... i didn't even realise .... it's being held at "The Shelter" .... this some straight up 8 mile shit

you gotta remember... D12 pretty much met and formed on the battle scene in detroit ... so it's gonna be some nostalgic shit for them

I know what you mean ... it's like a backwards step .... thats how it's seen anyway ... but i hope that barrier gets broken down and more get involved.... there's an element of bravado in battles .. testing your skills 1 on 1 ... it's a whole other area that i could really see a few more being tempted into.

plus ... i don't think it's only nostalgia thats hooked in kaniva .... D12 aint really doing much these days... shit.... i heard Bizzare was on craigs list selling collab verses for $500 ... lmao ... and if GT can pay Iron Solomon 10g to battle.... i'm sure Kaniva will pick up a nice lil cheque

Soon grindtime will be just one of the other battle sites.

I hear there is a new one coming out that is hosted by a cat that is known on multiple forums.
He said that the emcees he recruiting will kill everybody on grindtime easily!

Although that is just what i heard.

GT & rap battling is getting bigger than that. It's gone online too.

They actually have an online tinychat league (inspired by GT fans) and Mad Illz stops by every now and then. The other day he was talking about how its in his power to let anybody into GT, regardless if they tryout or not. & He said he's open to letting the tinychat battles count as a tryout, or something eligible enough to give someone a tryout opportunity.

another online chat league, I.C.E...which is run by people of here, LetsBeef..is willing to give a $50 prize to a battle's winner. :high:

Hip-Hop is bigger now more than ever, I think.
