This cypher by DaDDiO is probably the best rap battle verse ever written. Every rap battler should read it at least once. Or twice.

It's like watching Aang go into the Avatar State at the end of Avatar: the Last Airbender. Or the first nuclear bomb test. Or staring directly at the Sun. Or looking up from the base of Mount Everest and realizing how tiny, tiny, tiny you really are.

I wouldn't say it's the best battle rap verse ever written but it's pretty good.

10 years ago when he posted that verse though...Yeah, it was incredible.

Now that I revisit it...The punchlines, wordplay, etc don't 'wow' me. It's the wording - specifically how he strings together multis , his use of slant rhymes, and overall readibility of the verse.

Notice that scheme started with SCENE and ended with WHEAT. They don't rhyme, but if you pronounce them a certain way they do. Daddio was doing this on an expert level while most people were amateurish at it and forcing rhymes like crazy at the time.. Myself included lol

What I love about this is how he threw in his own couple lines at the end and they immediately went off scheme and sucked

Broken multis at that. If you’re gonna add multis at the end of a scheme that’s not yours, you could at least do the due diligence to match the multis lol
