PMs/DMs for Votes

Alright, so I've noticed this has gotten out of hand lately.

Sending anyone a personal/direct message on this site or by any other means to vote for you, to check out your battle, or anything along those lines, will be a bannable offense.
As far as duration, we'll get there when we get there.

You can send those kinds of messages about your solo tracks or cyphers all you want. This only pertains to battles.

If you want to get the word out about your battle, you can:
(1) use the Chat Box up at the top that the entire site can see,
(2) make a post in the correct forum where everyone can see it, or
(3) link it to the LB Discord so everyone can see it.

If you get any of these messages, just let one of us know. We want to make battles as fair as possible for each battler.

TL;DR: If you want someone to go view your battle, share it with the whole fuckin class; don't pass notes to your buddies.

Is the funniest shit I've heard a mod say. Ever

I 100% disagree with this. Dude to the fact that promoting matters, it does. Especially on an already dead site like lb come on man. Obviously I've never been with the go vote for me shit, but I've never had an issue with hago drop a fair vote. And I would even encourage my opponent to ask for fair votes as well numbers matter the more you get the more accurate it's going to be simply put.
But that's just my two cents.

So you can't pm someone just the link and nothing else? It's not like you're asking them to vote for you that way.

I was sent a link recently but ended up voting for the other guy and thought all was fair.

I said you could promote. I listed three ways that you could promote, to a very broad audience. Are you disagreeing that linking your battle to the entire site so hundreds of people can potentially vote, will get you fewer votes than sending a link to one person? I said that promoting to one specific person, directly, is not okay. That is a form of swaying, as that person you messaged is getting a link from one battler and may feel, even the slightest bit, biased toward the battler they got the link from. Advertising to the entire site is encouraged, and is more fair for both battlers.

See above. If you want votes on a battle, share the link with everyone in the Chat Box or on Discord. If it's your new track or whatever I don't give a fuck. PM as many people as you want. This is battle-specific.

Alright in that case I won't ever PM anyone about a battle ever again. I showed Rowdy and Odinn on discord my one battle prior to reading this but I'm going to stop doing that now.

My apologies.

This is true. Me, personally, I don't pm/dm for votes, but when I addressed the issue nothing was said or done about it???

My point exactly. Only when it happens to them is when it's really a major concern smh

A fourth option I’ve seen other servers do if we are going to use the LB Discord can we have a text channel strictly for promo’s.
Not everyone checks the forums. It’s possible to miss battles on the chat and we know people on the general LB discord does not vote on every battle. There’s no cookie cutter solution for sure but could be a viable option. Disregard if someone already touched base on this.

Telling people they can’t vote or blocking them from voting because “they always vote for you” is lame. Does that mean they get to go through all of your battles, see who votes for you every time, and also block them/tell them not to vote?

Nah, I don’t like the precedence that sets, and it’s a shady way to suppress/control the voting.

No but after 4 votes are deleted & a battle is re opened , I kinda don’t trust that. So I ask them not to vote. Both me & my opponents have had people blocked.

So why only block their votes against Phroxen? If they’re so shady to you wouldn’t you have rejected their votes for every round and not just the rounds you felt would be closer/more competitive?
