Edgeworth, help me spice up this scheme tournament
 

The last two rounds my opponent has ducked, and I hate that lack of competition, so I wanna raise the stakes.

So @Edgeworth, if you end up winning this round, put the LBT belt on the line versus me next round. Then to spice things even more, the winner of that clash puts it on the line again vs @Grave Digga, @The Saaxxx Baba or @Aggo in the final.

This whole tournament has been a bit of a mess with no shows etc, so give the winner of it all the chance to walk away with two titles instead of one.

Hopefully I don't get ducked a third time, let me know my man. Think this would be dope. Respect.

I guess all of us would be game for this but then we don't have anything to lose like Edge who is the current champ so his go ahead should be final.

Its a shame that your opponents have ducked, I'm sure if not they would have made some interesting battles to have been read. Unfortunately no-shows happen in tourneys from time to time. It sucks but there isn't much that can really be done, especially with low site activity, if the site was booming you could possibly freeze the no-shows from entering the next competition as was done before in the past but at present wouldn't make any sense to do so.

As for the LBT title, the LBT itself is starting again soon and I believe @Kiwi Peewee has that in order and so the title will be up for grabs when there's a contender. To put the LBT on the line in any other was other than the LBT itself undermines those who battled for it and held it for long periods of time from constantly winning. So, the LBT won't be put up for grabs in a random round cause a few people no showed the Scheme Tournament.

Oh it's his decision sure. I don't know how often he ever puts his belt on the line, I don't think I've seen it happen since I got here. Think it would just be a dope way to raise the stakes for everyone involved but I understand if he doesn't wanna risk losing it.

Edit: just seen Odin's message. Fair enough I guess. Feel like things would be way spicier if it was a belt that the champ had the decision to stake at any time, didn't realise there was an admin process behind him being allowed to do so. My bad, looking forward to seeing Edge compete for it in future.

Edge kinda won the LBT and the THC titles back to back which was a first time ever (was achieved during the time he was in the tag tourney too) feat hence both the tourneys had to be re jigged (allowing the edge some breathing space too) and will be more frequent here on i guess.

Think it would be so dope to have a title that can be put up on the line as much as the holder wants so long as he isn't inactive. Means random seasonal clashes or even mid-tournament battles could hold extra weight. He could even choose to put it on the line in concept battles/one bar/etc.

Maybe creating a title like that could be explored in future, give real power to the champ and give dudes the chance to hold belts outside of the tournament schedule.

No offence at all, mate but you're only back a short breeze. You were gone for a min while the LBT and HWC were running, Edge came back and won the HWC and maintained it and then went onto battle Kiwi for the LBT.

Aye, there's a process to attaining the LBT and not to continue it in its normal manner would undermine those who have battled for it before in the LBT's structure and in fact @Edgeworth LBT is a double champ win in a sense as the Heavyweight Championship & the LBT Championship were both on the line in a unification title bout between the two champions in each at the time: @Edgeworth HWC and @Kiwi Peewee LBT. So with the manner in it was won/unified, it certainly won't be 'up for grabs' due to no shows, no matter how spicy it may make the third round.

The LBT will be coming back after the Scheme Tourney, if you're still around be sure to sign up for that and you'll certainly have your chance at the title then.

Yeah I think even if it was “allowed” to happen (I say that because didn’t RULE get a bunch of LBA “defences” in some audio tourney against randoms?) I’d still decline for a few reasons. For one the LBT is always defended in 32s, and not only is this a 16 but it’s also a schemed 16. I think it would just be straying too far from the usual title
match format. I also do think the LBT is kickstarting again and there is also a call out option that I may not be opposed to but @Kiwi Peewee to confirm some of those details. But yeah Either way I’m sure we can get some hot battles going soon.

It wasn’t really about no shows so much as I was due to battle Edge this month anyway, as I had a number one contender’s clash vs GodLike lined up, I beat him outside of that, and then he got banned, so I assumed I’d be getting that soon, especially as the replacement for the contender’s match ducked out. Only difference is I’d battle Edge in the tournament rather than as a second separate clash, and then we’d double down by defending it again in the final.

But crossed wires, I coulda sworn it was a “LBT champion decides his defences” situation, like Edge is saying happened with Rule or whatever. Think someone said to me it worked a bit like Boxing belts like that. But if that’s not how it is then I totally respect it Odin and Edge, and I’m happy to see it go through due process, I always like when things on this site get more high stakes and competitive.

I’m currently away and so deferring all decisions to Odin but I totally agree with what he and Edge said here. That being said, when I get back I will set up the April LBT card which will definitely include a title challenge.
