2 TAG TEAM TOURNEYS
 

What y'all think about having 2 tag tourneys a year, one at the start & one near the end. The winners from the first tourney can't enter the second, even w/ a different partner. It'd be a few more titles given out but it'd also be more opportunity for others to win. The winning teams would then face off in a end of the year tag team battle for bragging rights or some shit cuz I doubt we wanna make up any more titles.

Definitely not a shit idea bro. I like it a lot. The tag-team tournament has a reputation of being "stacked" in certain aspects, so having 2 each year would ensure more people get a legit chance at a title. Burden with another idea from the mad science lab. I fux wit it :high:

No. If you want two then enter on the text AND audio side.

It's more than just having two tourneys though, there'd be the final between both teams which would be a new thing for the site.

I know this idea has good and bad points, that's the reason for the thread.

Honestly I’d love anything to boost site activity, but the yearly tournament schedule (for text) is looking extremely full at the moment. There were actually two Tag tournaments within a few months of each other in 2019 which was alright, but you’d have to cut out something like scheme or concept to fit a second tag tourney in. If everyone is keen about it we could give it a go, but I think a better idea would be to either run more regular tag battles (ie a monthly card type thing) or have a forum tournament like Punchline Champs.

Just be better. The guys that win it all the time now had to improve to be better than everyone else to win it.

Except RULE and Seul they get a free pass apparently.

Agree with this, although I feel generally everyone already focuses on writing constant back to back punches, maybe something different could also be introduced like a Storytelling Tournament, storytelling is different in the sense your bars tell a story, and instead of back to back punches, each bar is a setup to build your final bar which hits the hardest. It’s a different style of writing that’s not common on this site, I think it’ll challenge a lot of people’s pens even vets, and give appreciation to a different style of text battling, I also think this tournament would improve how everyone sets up their punches as well.
