When a user gets hit with a ban, there should be a reason placed beside the ban status
Both to keep mods transparent and users accountable to other users.

Not a bad idea. Mods already have to log a reason for an infraction (whether or not it leads to a ban) and a reason for an outright ban. These show up in the mod forums. It shouldn't be difficult to have the same message show up in a section of a banned user's page.

Nobody wants it because they don't want people seeing what they got banned for. And mods don't want to have to tell the regular users it seems.

I think this could work; depends how specific you want the notices to be tho. Also, there’s a few issues. Often someone will be infracted for one major thing, which isn’t quite enough to get a ban, then get a minor infraction which adds up and gets them banned. Which offence would you label them with?

Sort of a tricky question. Ideally the one they were hit with most recently. The idea of looking at a major crime someone committed awhile ago and basing my judgement on that is kind of silly.
