Do Some Have Too Much Vote Power?
So, what is really going on with the vote power here? For those that don't know, Ricky Lahey just dropped out of the tournament, and pretty much gave the reason that a lot of people seem to have an issue with but choose to stay silent about.
I understand the need for vote power adjustments...however, are there some members here that have too much vote power? |
Mods/FVC have 4vp, everyone else has 2vp.
Typically I argued against this but from my knowledge we don't have bums as mods/FVC right now. |
Quote:
Esso (Established battler and great voter) 4VP Lockhart (Established battler, former multiple time FVC king, great voter) 4VP Kiwi Peewee (Established battler, great breakdowns and voting) 4VP GOOD GRIEF (Established battler and great voter) 3VP Fidel Z (Established battler, former FVC and great voter) 3VP Shodan (Established battler, former FVC king and great voting breakdowns) 3VP |
No. Noobs don’t understand bars, something has to make up for that. Noobs vote for noobs.

The problem is most of vets and established battlers, and FVC....are NOT Voting..
|
So here's my issue...I believe the highest should be 3, and the lowest should be 0.
Staff/FVC - 3 Exceptional Voters - 2 Poor Voters -1 Infracted/Cheating Voters - 0 I say this because while staff and FVC do have a case for having more of an influence on battles, I do NOT agree with one vote swaying the entire course of one. I'm not arguing if staff/FVC should have higher VP. My argument is it might be too high. |
Ricky Lahey left the Scheme Tourney signups because he believes whoever the best friend of the mods will win anyway. That sounds more like the same half ass crybaby complaints about bias and favoritism than it does a legit criticism of how VP works.
Where was my fucking favoritism last week? I guess Kiwi and Lock must be best friends with Eth if that’s how things work. And if that’s the case, fuck y’all...you’re off my Xmas card list. |

Ricky's point is "favoritism wins battles." This statement within itself is true. We all know it. We all know that "higher-ups" tend to vote certain ways that most would call questionable. That's always been an issue, and always will be. So I'm not addressing that. What I am addressing is, how about we propose lowering the maximum vote power that we can have? That way, even if these votes do take place (and we all know they do take place) they aren't powerful enough to single-handedly change the outcome of the entire battle. |
If "higher up" get votes they shouldn't, drop me some examples of times that this happen and I'll give my thoughts.
But all I'm seeing is Kiwi beating Shodan or me beating Esso. Squammy brought Esso to one vote and he used a "gas" line. Punk just battered one of the best to ever do it in audio. I'm seeing more evidence to the contrary so you'll need clear cut examples. |
