New Tournament(s)
 

So, I've been thinking about this for a while, and I'd like some feedback on it.

I think Letsbeef should introduce 2 new tournaments to the yearly schedule that target 2 very specific kinds of LB users.

The first tournament would be a Champions Only tournament, where the site's champions can enter in a 1-loss elimination tournament and compete to be crowned 2020 Undisputed Champion (or 2021, 2022, etc etc). It could be sort of like WrestleMania but for members and separate from the GC, since only champions can enter this will ensure top-quality bars and the best of the best battling each other.

The second tournament will be for those who don't have any championships or titles to their name. This will ensure that LetsBeef crowns 1 new champion each year, 2020 Rising Champion, and gives those users without titles more hope of winning one each year. The upside to this is it keeps newer users intrigued, and less doubtful when it comes to Users with hella titles milking tournaments.

Before people say this is a shot at Rieper or Seul, it isn't. Going on a legitimate legendary run is one thing (mad respect to them), but literally not battling and waiting for tournaments just to stack titles *cough* Bleu *cough* is another lol

Thoughts on this?

We barely got regular members as active lmao and there's more regular members active than champions

I can facilitate these if you want to run them (other than the user titles) but they’d need to be run as forum tournaments, could be worth bringing into official schedules next year if they’re popular.

The champion of champions thing is kinda redudant, IMO. It will further congest tourney schedule and TBH every GC is practically a tournament of champions anyway (atleast when you get to 16 or 8 left).

The rising stars tournament is something that could be dope, though. I would definitely love to see something like that take place.

Facts facts but Punk made a point, at this point there are more active champs than active non-champs.

Yeah. But that's what I mean. The GC will just basically be the same guys as the undisputed title tourney, if you know what I mean? For instance, 12 of the last 16 in the most recent GC had titles. So it's like, unless you want to replace the GC with this, I just don't see the void that needs to be filled.

I do think a "best of the rest" tourney IE the rising champion you suggested would be a good way to offer some fresh match ups and give some overlooked or just relatively new guys a chance.

I'm still waiting for an actual Topical tourney to pop off.

The not one but two interchangeable title leagues need attention and we can’t even get most active people to vote or battle regularly in the Arenas.

In one breath, we’re badmouthing people who only want to participate for titles and stack them up. In the next, we’re trying to create more opportunities to do so. More tourneys make no sense right now.

i concur with a new topical tourney which is done in the box and preferably 16s to keep it more tournament friendly. plus 16 is basically 8 bars which one verse in a song and i think everybody as rap artists should be able to touch a topic to it's entirety with a 16.
