Idea to curb tournament no-shows
 

We've tried different things in the past like the tournament failure award and tournament exclusion lists and they have failed for various reasons. What if we charge everyone who signs up for tourneys a certain amount of credits as an entrance fee? They get reimbursed the credits either when they win or get eliminated provided they post in all their rounds up to that point. If they no-show any of their rounds, then they never get it back. This won't stop all no-shows but it may prevent some. Make the credit entrance fee "affordable" enough that most people will be able to join, and that if they don't have enough credits, then it's probably a sign that they either haven't been active long enough on the site or they've probably lost too much credits in the past due to chronically no-showing. What do you guys think?

I think something to this effect is sorely needed. Unfortunately credits as a currency have lost their value of late because you earn them both by battling and voting; but if their value is restored this could be very effective.

You restore their value by finding more ways to exhaust them.

Or we could just choose times that actually work for people instead of pulling a bunch of overcomplicated ideas out of our asses.

Given that people have several days to post and there is LITERALLY NO REASON to wait until right on the time of the deadline to post, I’d be really depressed if changing the time made a difference. But if there’s a specific time of day you think would work better please let me know cos I can’t see the harm in it.

No one gives a fuck about credits.

Just scrap all the tournaments and leave the GC. Simple.

Yeah man I just can't be having my eyes glued to the computer screen 24/7 like that and I just wasn't able to come up with bars that were good for the concept either so like fuck that lol
