The Block Button [poll]
 

There is a lot of talk in the Shout box about the potential abuse of the block feature. I'd like to get a general consensus of how LB as a whole feels about "the block button".

Is it fine as is?
Should it be limited?
Should it exist at all?

If you have other ideas or suggestions on the topic let's hear them here.

It definitely should exist. Some people come on here just to troll. This is an instance where it should be used.

Blocking people so they don't vote against you, is wrong and cheating in my opinion.

Caked out, BNAS, YC, Row, Celsius, lizman, and many more have done it.

It should be a thing that staff has to do for you. That way the person being blocked is for good reason, and not because you don't want that person to vote against you.

its corny to be able to block votes. period. blocks are basically being used to guarantee yourself wins.

Voted for it to be changed especially with the level of activity we're currently at

@Rai is right on....staff should have to approve a block. Mods have always been open and helpful about deleting unexplained votes and hate votes plus the VP system helps balance that out when someone gets called out for bullshit...theres no need to block for poor voting.

as a victim of a block i couldn't agree more. i've been asked to vote on certain battles and due to one of the participants having blocked me i couldn't :(

should be limited as sometimes people do use it to gain votes and keep haters at bay ... but sometimes people do it for a reason which isn't for winning battles or just blocking someone who you hate ...

one battling is a means of giving to the site, providing entertainment, but its for the member more than it is for the site.. and if someone is gonna be a fucking dick and vote off of bias or politics then they deserved to be blocked. and everyone should have a right of determining who votes fair and who doesnt, and which one of those are entitled to vote on THEIR battle. no one does that blocking shit with the intent of winning battles, thats a fucked up conspiracy.. its to keep them bias-voting faggots at bay. if you're blocked then you're doing something wrong, real talks.

I believe a limit with an expiry date is ideal.

There shouldn't be a block feature.

The block feature only exists to prevent people from misusing votes and comments on your battles, and if they're doing that, then other action should be taken. e.g., if you have someone blocked because they're clearly hate voting against you, then they should have their VP reduced to 0 or be banned.

The block feature can only serve two purposes:

1. Compensating for staff members who aren't doing their job. And the staff here usually do their job.

2. Letting people who can't take criticism try to turn their battles into safe spaces where nobody can cast fair votes against them.
