Couldn't be happier as a celtics fan..Kyrie one of my favourite players, a great scorer and a closer.
I can't really tell what he was thinking though. Leaving cleveland, the team he played for his entire career and a guaranteed spot in the NBA finals (also getting that point guard that according to lebron they were missing last season in Derrick Rose).. Oh well..I wouldn't mind noel to be added to the squad, although apparently he rejected 17.5 million a year deal (yea he isn't worth that money) |
well,
i aint pleased but if i was ainge i wouldnt give an aging player a 150 million contract so, and they got a dude who hasnt even reached their prime, and taller too. brown and tatum can play more now, and reach their potential how boston would be better debatable.. isaiah got similar play style as irving, good replacement . cavs got a great 3 & D player, that'll help em when facing GSW 20 year old zizic got mad potential and that nets pick ... top 3-8 .. hm , good rebuild tool if the king leaves tho the pic cold drop. think cavs win for now |
Im more excited by Celtics possible signing of Patrick Roberts.

I'd say Cavs won it. The general consensus is that LeBron is leaving after this year, and Isaiah probably won't re-sign, which gives them one final push to get another ring. Since Kyrie wouldn't be able to lead them to a championship, this final LeBron-led year makes sense, while also getting additional depth in Jae Crowder to allow LeBron to rest more. And once the Cavs go into rebuild mode next year, they'll have one of the top picks in the draft to build around.
This wasn't a bad trade for the Celtics, either-they finally moved some assets, and the addition of Kyrie makes the Celtics East contenders for this year and at least the next 3 years. This pretty much guarantees they'll make a Finals or two unless the balance of power shifts more towards the East... This was actually a really good trade for both teams, my only concern for the Celtics is the 1st-rounder they gave up and their continual lack of rim protection/rebounding |
