Elevation Crews Idea..
This is something I have thought about recently and would like all of you to let me know if you like the idea and are willing to implement it.
So Me and Celsius started Green Street a while back, to recruit new members, show them the ropes, and essentially offer guidance. Ro has been recently doing the same. We decided that we are going to do a crew battle in the forum where 3 rookies of his squad will battle 3 of ours. Talking with the new guys in my crew they seem excited about the idea of doing this. So what I'd like to ask is... HOW Many of you old heads are willing to start elevation crews, invite random new users (up to lets say 5 per crew) and offer guidance to help them elevate? We can also frequently host crew battles like me and Ro are doing which will be great for activity. Vets don't need to battle (most of you aren't anyways) just use some of your time on here to offer some pointers to the new blood |
I've been doing this for as long as I've been able to logically break down the craft, these people don't have to be in your crew. Just tell a guy in your vote on their battle that you are willing to break down their verses,, and 8/10 people respond asap.
This is dope though, with it hopefully more people do begin doing this because others have already been doing so since 2012 when I joined and likely long before that. This thread has a full cosign in my book Side-note there should be a distinct difference between a "veteran" and someone who did a bunch of shit on here a number of years ago. A veteran comes back to his country and gets a job and continues to contribute to it, half of these "vets" just live off of the online achievements of yesteryear and even cop a god complex around the shit. In my eyes, if you're reading this and you haven't battled/voted/helped people improve in over a year you aren't a "vet," youre a guy who can't decide if he wants to bring something to the table or move on. |
By veterans I mean someone who's not necessarily a good battler himself but on the other hand knows a good bar. I know you had been doing your thing with the elevation temple, but the reason I thought it'll be better to form crews is so every 'vet' who can contribute in this way, to focus on a group of a select few individuals rather than everyone. Additionally, to fill up the battle section with crew battles which can potentially lead to feuds, breathe some life in the forums and all that Jazz.
The Veterans/Leaders of the crew won't even have to step in and battle. It's just a way to get new members involved since old timers don't have that battle fire anymore unless there's a title on the line..Alls you gotta to do is find 4 active members, pick a team to represent your crew and once the battles are out there offer advice on their verses to make em better when the next crew battle comes around ---------- Post added at 10:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:45 PM ---------- Double Post: On average we have bout 5-7 new people signing up. 5 crews can start now and recruit up to 4 members within a month (it can be tricky finding people who will be loging in everyday so a bit of shuffling in the roster would be required) do what this thread suggests and BOOM. 20 new active members..Just got to be actively looking for new blood and working with it |
This is dope @OSKAR. I've actually thought about doing something similar. Not the crew battle part, but the recruiting new members part. I think it's a good way to possibly convert some of the new members that sign up daily into long-term members. I'm just not sure how involved I want to be with the site right now.

Crew battles are a big part for two reasons!
1)Potentially stir some shit talking in the forums instead of the typical bs chit chat/accusations/gossip we get. 2)Imagine 6 crews being involved in weekly battle cards each of them represented by 3-4 members. We get 9-12 battles per card and approx 18-24 votes per battle (assuming that new blood is indeed excited and each vote on all battles I agree that crew battles aren't necessary though to help these people elevate and raise the quality of battles on site.. this can be done internally via crew forums instead or hitting up with a pm which includes a breakdown of their latest battle (something that me and cel are doing ) This may all sound to good to be true but it's worth a shot since relying on the current members to get things popping hasn't had much of an effect ---------- Post added at 11:40 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:38 PM ---------- I'm just talking alot... |
