Yes..the chatrooms right now is overkill.

If people want to talk instead of battle, force them do it in the forums. That way the site will look active in the eyes of guests/potential members

Co-Sign, there's been 5689 shouts (messages) in the chatbox since May 24th which could've been forum posts or profile comments.

In comparison there was only 200+ comments dropped since then and not sure how many forum posts but I doubt it was more then 1,000

Closing those 3 outlets would force people to post publicly and boost forum activity ten-fold imo

I gotta agree. I used to think the chatbox was dope, but really, it would serve the forums and overall site to axe it.

well shit now im intrigued who do you need to whisper to and about what that gonna make you miss that level of intimacy? im saying i could be wrong maybe im just not getting the good PMs you feel me?

Used to be totally against this, but I've gotta say if the chatbox wasn't there people would definitely be flocking to the forums more, but that doesnt look like what X wants considering the addition of chat rooms which is basically just another chat box lol

Yes, shutting off chatbox and IM access would boost use of the forums, but what would be the point? If they are gossipping in the chatbox, they'll just gossip in the forums instead.

what people comment might not be of particular substance, it is however in my opinion a reflection of activity especially to the new members.

If I was a guest (and therefore can't view any chatbox), clicking on the forum page and seeing stuff like '2 viewing' or threads that have maximum 3 pages of content, I will most likely assume that this is a dead community and no interaction is occurring.

BTW I am against deleting private messaging. Speaking from experience and I think most will agree, that blue folder icon translates to excitement (when first starting). In my opinion this could potentially bring in a few more new members and lets face it, that's what LB should be targeting. Current members will complain about the change, they complain about everything tbh, but they simply never leave
