Hall Of Shame: Revisited.
Do you guys think that the hall of shame should be brought back, in a revised capacity? For instance, with an award, as opposed to a usertitle. And, a dedicated thread, like that of the hall of fame thread? Which tracks instances of cheating by recurrently repeating offenders?

Yes sir. It should.

Agreed.

I'm not really sure what the "Hall of Shame" is, but it sounds like a Hall of Fame for biters/recyclers/assholes/etc. I don't think it's a good idea because it gives those people recognition, which is exactly what trolls want. It encourages them to come back and cause more problems. If someone's causing major issues over an extended period of time, we should treat them as Wikipedia does: revert, block, ignore.
That said, it's also a fairly fun thing to do, I'd think. So, while it might not be the best thing for the site in terms of dealing with asshats, I'm supporting it anyway; but, like M-Rock said, I'd prefer not long writeups or a thread, just a title - maybe "FAGGOT" in all caps under their name in rainbow would work. Just throwing the above out there so other people will consider it. |
Just creates unnecessary work

I mean, obviously I'd be the one to run the thread/issue the awards. But, I think it would be beneficial in helping newer members to determine which members will be more beneficial to learn from/associate themselves with. And may also server to deter, at least in slight, some of the cheating that takes place. It's just an idea, though, of course. I'll be rolling out some of my other thoughts throughout the course of June, by first, like this, opening a poll to the public. If those polls gain the support necessary, I'll then work to create a working model to be brought up to the other mods, and administration.
