Being a real battle rapper

I've seen too many battle rappers talk about shooting you n' crap when we all know they're not thugs. If your not a gangsta, don't rap about being a gangsta. If your not a thug, don't rap about being a thug.

I used to rap like that until i realized how stupid and insincere i sounded. You need originality in your battle verses if you want to be the best.

Honestly? You need BARS if you want to be the best.

Charron is considered one of the better battlers in the circuit, and he uses gun bars when we know damn good and well he doesn't use that shit, but the thing is that he able to use gun bars in a creative fashion that kind of separates him from other gun bar users in the fact that he doesn't always use them.

Whether or not you actually use guns or not is beside the point (You don't even have to know what gun you're referring to). If you can creatively flip your bar and use it to it's full effectiveness, then it shouldn't really matter if you are being sincere or not.

Bars are definitely the major factor when it comes to battle rap. Of course don't fill up your entire verses with gun bars but I feel like if the bar comes hard enough combined with references that people understand, you could practically rap about any topic imo.

Charron vs. Shotgun Suge is a prime example in which some of his hardest hitting haymakers included lines that had gun bars. Obviously you have to come with your own style with it in order to show the authenticity/convinction of what you're saying and that's I think makes guys like Charron one of the higher tier battlers out.

I feel like you have to but to a certain extent, you could go the joke route but you need some gun bars just for those people interested in gun bars (which is a lot of people).

Depends on the crowd bro. Sometimes, gun bars are all they react to... It's an art form though. Long gone are the days when niggas had to live what they rap. It's all about how you sell it. At the end of the day, nobody killing anynody. It's just entertainment

I know but i feel the least you can do is use them when appropriate. Like "If i could, i'd ___." I'm mostly referring to gang affiliation though. Talking about gangs could get you in a lot of trouble.

Kinda disagree with you lol. Eminem has songs with no gun bars but people still consider them hits.
