Proposed Cap
 

I know Pugz has been asking for people to tone down on posting so many battles.

It kills the credibility of the rankings.

People don't dare post opens because *insert name* will snipe their battle for the hundreth time.

No cap has created a sniping obsession equaling quantity over quality.

People will avoid voting on a lot of battles because "oh it's this guy again and he can't even be assed to write up a quality verse so why should I be assed to vote"


I'm suggesting a 7 to 14 battles a week cap.

In theory

This will bring creditability back to the rankings.
Encourage people to put more effort into their verses.
Thus encourage more voting
And better voting because people wont be trigger gb vb voting to get their 100 battles a week in.

Bare in mind most sites struggle to get votes on 1 battle a WEEK.

Even with these caps we'd still be allowing a shit ton more battles and votes than any other active site.

So where are the sniping complainers going to go?

Nowhere. lol

They might test the waters elsewhere while the cap timer winds down to get their fix, but they'll soon realize this place caters to them more than anywhere else when their battles have been open for a month straight gathering dust with no votes.

i was thinking this already.. i was thinking make it so you can post 2 open a day and snipe 1... thatd encourage a lot to drop opena as well.. lemme see how difficult it will be for pseudo to do

Posting pre arranged battles should be unlimited.

We should be encouraging people to send each other battles to up the overall quality of the site on the battling side.

Besides, capping sniping and not opens wont work. You'll have opens waiting for days even weeks to get taken.

1 Snipe.
2 Opens.
Unlimited Private/Pre Arranged Battles.

Cuts down on the garbage while giving everyone a chance to battle as much as they want as long as they are doing it on an even playing field rather than sniping/someone posting an open who doesn't know who he's battling.

This will also help bring the community together as they'll have to communicate with each other much more in order to get a battle.

you may as well just eliminate the 'start an open battle' or disable it... that would really force people to only rely on actually sending battles/blinddrops

why increase quality when activity on its lowest ?

Being able to post opens so you can write w.e you want is something L.B has always offered over other current sites. Why would you remove that 1 plus we have over others completely. The idea is to reign it in to within reason not kill it completely, it's what makes L.B unique.

Plus the way you have to send battles here isn't exactly noob friendly. At least with an extra option of posting opens you get people posting some form of battles to gradually wanting too and learning to send private battles through the communication they had with other members through open/snipes.

What you're saying is a sure fire way to kill L.B battle activity.

i also dont see the point of 'reigning it in'...u have dudes like bnas who are obsessively battling like it was some kind of crack ..and being active.. yes he drops terrible shit everytime he battles, but where is the logic in impeding or limiting access because its 'overused' its sounds like a tmobile data plan..lol as u said the open battle option is great but limiting activity and going thru all that ish for possibly one dude 'bnas' is counterproductive...you cant have it halfassed... either disable the feature or allow it to be utilized how it was designed for... because limiting the amount a person can drop opens wont stop bnas from being active....... what u can do if your concerned with the ranking system is not count snipes points toward your record.... only allow actual sends to count....and have the open battle as a sort of practice type option for the noobs.. naysayers will always hate on LB for the simple reason that as slow as we are , were still extremely more active than any forum site hands down... the only collateral damage is theres alot of shitty battles out mixed with good ones... but shit id take that over 4 dope battles out and 1 week to gain 1 or 2 votes...thats the tru definition of dead

These guys are addicted to posting verses, so what? You think they're just going to stop posting verses because of the imposed cap. Thats not how addictions work. you don't just say well aiiiiight then thats it. You look elsewhere to get your fix.

The only elsewhere in the equation is actively seeking out people to battle on lets beef because they sure as hell aren't going to get their fix anywhere else, especially when we're still offering them a chance to post their opens and snipes, just at a capped rate. - Vodafone rep.

Say you cap at the 2 to 1 Pugz is suggesting.

Thats 21 battles a week from sniping and opens.

Thats A LOT.

But at least this way it ENCOURAGES.. Not FORCES people to seek out legit competitors. Take more time with their work because they can't play the percentages game of "Oh I'll post 100 battles so what if I lose 5" as much.

It stops people getting sniped by the same people over and over again which happens at a ridiculous rate. I've seen cases where people have been sniped by the same guy anywhere up to 7 times in 1 day. I've seen people sit around waiting to snipe everyone and anyone who dares post an open to the point the new battles list has the same guys name on it through out I mean c'mon wtf. This isn't good for the site, not in any way shape or form.

Poor and rushed voting is a result of this. But. Posting opens and sniping still has it's place.

There's no half measure. It's all about finding a happy medium where everyone gets what they want and everyone benefits.

Everytime this site has took things from 1 extreme to another it's lead to nothing but bad things.
