Cormier is a fucking turd, everyone touches heads before the fight. He decides to push Bone's face, he's going to destroy you. Can't wait for this fight, no longer than 2 rounds. 12.5inch reach differential.

To be fair Cormier KO'd Bigfoot and wrestle-fucked Barnett, Nelson and Mir all at heavyweight so if he can either close the distance(not likely) or take Jones down(more likely) then he has a chance.

I still think Jones KO's him but if Cormier's wrestling turns out to be a problem this could be MUCH closer than people think it'll be. :high:

There is NO way Jones KOs him. Jones doesn't have the power, and will probably try to avoid grappling for the majority of the fight.

Cormier's Strikeforce career shows the hype he WOULD deserve. For people to tell me that he's the best UFC wrestler based on throwing Dan Henderson (HW Vs MW) around, quoting Hendo's wrestling career like that wasn't around 20 years ago. Not finishing Mir is shocking for a high level fighter. Hendo and Nelson have one punch in their entire locker. Cummings is actually a solid wrestler but doesnt know how to do anything together yet.

I'm completely not sold on Cormier, but this is hard fight for Jones. Cormier could well get him down. Jones is a great wrestler but the body types makes it difficult for him in this one. I predict Jones to use his reach to make it look similar to the Glover fight though. Keeping Cormier at distance, mixing his striking well. I'd probably estimate it to be 2 rounds close to Cormier, 2 rounds clear to Jones, 1 round draw.

Cormier's never faced anyone that could strike on the same level as Jones. That along with the fact that he'll be forced to constantly pursue the take-down and IMO there's a pretty good chance we'll see Bones landing some bombs.

Only thing is I cant remember seeing him get tagged before. If his chin can hold up then theres a good chance he'll be able to close the distance and put Jones on his back, which to my knowledge nobodies been able to do.

& I dont know about a 50/50 split, but I could definitely see this going to a decision. I was just saying w/ Cormier constantly forced to shoot/close the distance the potential for a knockout is 100% there.

I don't think he'll SPECIFICALLY be forced to go for the takedown. He's confident in his hands and with hood head movement might be able to land some shots on the inside. It's arguable to say that Jones has never faced anyone with the wrestling of Cormier. It's also arguable to say that Glover and Gus had never fought someone that could strike on the same level as Jones, but he didn't finish either of them.

I don't reckon Jones will hurt him at any stage (although overall the damage will be a killer).

For me it's 100% a decision fight.
