How do you know the universe is real?
 

How do you know that the universe is real, and not just a grand illusion perpetuated by an unseen force? How do you know that you do not simply live in a program created by another civilization? What if the civilization who created the supercomputer that holds the program that you live your life in were also created by another just like it, and only created the secondary supercomputer you currently survive in because of what the first supercomputer's code told them to do, in a type of supercomputer regression?

All of the above would implicate that the universe is real though.

What if the universe is simply a delusion perpetuated by something else that is simply too complex to be seen as what it really is; an illusion.

But if that's the case, and you are knowingly stating that it is an illusion does it really remain an illusion? Take into account that something is only an illusion until you know how it works, then it becomes much more simple. So, if we're knowingly stating that the universe itself is actually an illusion is it actually an illusion anymore? And if that's the case, was it ever an illusion from the start, or simply a machine of much more simple parts created to seem much more complex?

An illusion is real in the eyes of a beholder. What we consider to be real would remain real to us.
