RATINGS TABLE

Here are the ratings and ranks based on the previous round. These will obviously change over the course of the tourney and subsequent battles. These ratings are not considered accurate because they are only based on a single round thus far. Along with the rating comes a Ratings Deviation (RD). This is similar to the standard deviation in statistics. Everyone going into their first League battle will start off with the provisional rating of 1200 and RD 350. Ratings will only change upon completed League battles. RD is something that decreases over time based on number of battles completed. The idea is that your rating will become more accurate over time the longer you stay in the League and you will find out how strong of a battler you actually are. The higher your RD is, the more ratings will fluctuate as a result of a win or a loss. When you lose, how many points are lost from your rating depends on the rating/RD of the person you lose to. The lower the rating of the person you lose to, the more points you would lose. Vice versa, when you win, the higher the rating of the person you beat, the more points you gain off that win. A person with a higher rating will always lose more points when they lose to a person with lower rating than that lower-rated person would lose if they lost to the higher-rated person. All of this is calculated along with formulas that have been built into a special calculator I’ve made for League rankings. Each League member will receive their own copy of the calculator once this tourney is over so that you may plot how you may move up the ranks.

RULES & DEADLINES

No Flips (you may do nameflips, but do not refer to anything your opponent has said specifically if you are responding)
All battles except for the final will be 8 lines
No cheating of any sort
ALL BATTLES MUST BE SENT IN THE BASIC ARENA (If you send in the Exclusive Arena and its too late to resend in the Basic Arena, you will be disqualified.)
Not following any of these rules or failing to meet the deadline will get you disqualified from the tourney, regardless of whether you win the battle or not

ABSOLUTELY NO EXTENSIONS AND NO REPLACEMENTS.
DEADLINES

SENDERS: You must send your verses as a PRIVATE battle to your opponent by 11:59 PM Eastern GMT -4 August 10th
RESPONDERS: You must respond to the verses sent to you by 11:59 PM Eastern GMT -4 August 11th
If it takes you more than a day to write a verse, I suggest not waiting until you have received a challenge before you start writing. Throughout this tournament, all responders will only have 24 hours past the sending deadline as their response deadline.

RD TABLE

This table shows how RD will decrease over time. The RD is an assumption of the accuracy of your rating. An RD of 10 means we are 99% sure this is your true rating. As your RD lowers, there is also less fluctuation in your rating due to a win or a loss. But of course, the RD of whoever you face will also be considered and calculated.
