Text Mods: ROTY Discussion
 

@AfterThought is on schedule to run this tournament.

It is slated for the month of December, so I'd like to get some talk going about how we're going to select/run the tournament. Hit me up!

I've BEEN lookin for rookies, believe me lol, they're all about 8.

EDIT: So maybe we can allow members from late 2011 in?

Also, are you running the LBT fam? If you're not, I could do that.

I don't know if letting ppl in from 2011, otherwise it wouldn't be the 2012 rookie tourney lol.

I'd say if we don't have enough to compete then just don't have the tourney. It's not 'really' that important is it?? lol.

Letting 2011 members in, no.

I think your should nominate 8 members and have FVC nominate the other 8 for a round 16 to be honest. FVC sees all the newest faces on the site, so if there's someone that's a sleeper they might fill it in. Plus, they've earned that say. @NOBLE, thoughts?

You wanna run an Exclusive League, ROTY, and LBT simultaneously? nah lol focus on ROTY exclusively because it takes priority as a scheduled bracketed tournament.

@2FUEL - ROTY should be a tradition in my opinion. 8 solid competitors and 8 wildcards from FVC should be entertaining. I haven't seen any hype built around it yet. I'll get on that. I'll start a buzz thread in the Text Forum to get people talking it up.


Me running LBT, yeah.. I need to catch up on it. I'll spruce up LBT this week. Shouldn't take too much work to update everything.

Yea, I think there should be a ROTY even if there aren't that many dope newcomers. 16 sounds like a right number and I like your idea of selecting 8 and letting FVC select the other 8 @RhetoriK. As far as letting 2011 members in, its been done in the past where people who signed up late in the previous year, perhaps too late to be considered in that year's ROTY, were allowed to join. I think if we allow people who joined after October of 2011, it should be okay as long as they never participated in ROTY 2011. Some of them probably weren't showing any skill by December to even be considered but have acquired some skill by now. That's just my opinion, but its up to y'all.

@NOBLE Agreed. I think we should keep the October 2011 threshold as an absolute last resort.

And yeah @AfterThought ...Enfinite just PM'ed me the same information about his past.

I don't think there was a ROTY tournament last year, so I think October 2011 and onwards should definitely count.

It won't show up on IP scan but NATURILL HAS BEEN HERE SINCE 2007 so please nobody suggest him.

why not just combine audio text roty an then make it like a double tourney but new vs old type deal

No. That defeats the purpose all together in my opinion. That's good idea, but a separate event.

If we're going to sanction ROTY and have it count for a title, then we need to keep it as organized as possible. We can't mix media in the brackets. @Phil Banks
