Except for a very very few of the GC '12 battles, I haven't seen a text battle worth reading twice or that amazed me in a very long time. I've seen some mildily dope verses from a couple cats but their opponent been selling the match short. The text arena is a chinese baby graveyard I haven't clicked on that link in at least 2months. I think the od'n of tournaments killed that raw let's duke it out battlin culture. Only thing poppin text related is the text lounge. Audio owns this site now tbh.

if your text game isn't a stepping stone to recording or getting on the mic shit's stupid.....alot of text heads making the jump which I think is a good look.... audio is def more of a challenge... because it doesn't end with writing.....

Yeah I'm not discrediting the audio side And it makes since for cats to wanna expand their horizons as a emcee but leaving the pen n pad for the mic. And to be honest alot of these cats are wayyyyyy better on the mic then I've ever seen em in the box. All I'm saying is I used to be able to hop on and be wowed by both sides of the site on a daily basis. Now the only ones really puttin out that crack consistantly is the audio side.

werd.... i went through the same shit where reading verses was more of a chore then something fun.....ended up quitting text for years then doin audio here....but shit is slow now because it's the end of summer i'm sure dudes get back on it when school start

Skill level is a little lower than in the past,
People are more selective who they battle
Less beefing in general to stir the pot, because face it, outside of the squabbles of DPS and Classick, the bad guy ratio of this site is way off, so people feel less enthusiastic about going harder on someone, especially if they get along.

(sounding old) but back when..there were antagonistic crews outside of the top ones like HoodRich, MFD, ClickClack, Soul assassins. You had Pure Money's crew, Triga Finga's crew, Apocalypse later on and a handful of others all starting shit, not just a cat here and there like now.

I agree that in general the text side has declined noticably. I don't know the solution. New blood? More effort from existing vets? fiik

A lot of the audio dudes need a text bootcamp though. They can't write punches or anything for shit.

That being said, I'll never go back.

Should be some dope battles commin out when the Old Era vs New Era ish pops off....All 32's lookin pretty satisfying....... @TalkSick vs @AfterThought Be sure to watch for THAT!
