are battles won by the guy with the better verse, or the guy with the most votes?

before yall all go "WAAAAH? THATS THE SAME THING!!" no its not. think about it. aint that hard.

thing is you COULD say the guy with the better verse which you predictable fucks were prob about to say... but thats bull. folks straight up get robbed on here. how do you vote? i KNOW that folks always have diff opinions on here about voting but i vote mostly on punchlines. if punches are even you vote on flow/consistency and etc. just becuz i think punchlines are the bulk of battling. i dont really like that filler style of goin on and on with flow and multis but weak punchlines. i understand others have diff opinions again but there HAS to be some kind of basic form of voting we all have. where we take that base... and use it despite the bias everyone has (including me) and say "even though i prefer this dudes flow more, overall the other guy won in all other aspects even though i REALLY like punches in battles." i dont really want to ramble on cuz i know how folks hate reading these days but do you get me? it just feels like opinion is too heavy on here. people dont go in depth and really THINK about there votes. they dont analyze the shit. and when someone loses and they honestly feel like they won... and they go into the forums and talk to argue it... its considered bitching. if i argue over something i feel like i dont deserve its bitching? was martin luther king "bitching" when he spoke against segregation when he felt he didnt deserve it? you want me to take something i dont deserve like a man? answer me this.. is it possible to take a sexual rape "like a man"?

I agree with you to be honest. I vote for the most entertaining verse over hardest punches. Arguable punches = the 'better' verse

point is...


1. i feel like folks arent voting realistically anymore. they arent taking played punchlines into consideration, slightly forced shit, etc.

2. people dont take uneducated votes into consideration. im not saying noob votes should be erased or sum but damn. c'mon now.

3. folks too afraid to put full on expos out and actually.. idk... THINK about battle verses.

4. i think battles should, on request, be seriously broken down in a thread bar for bar, weighed and reconsidered if possible.

just shit like that.

iono man. thats still pretty open ended. i vote for the better OVERALL verse. you have to factor all that shit into it when you're voting on battles. i mean this is subject to a never-ending game of "what if" right?

the better verse wins in my opinion. i have stylistic preferences, but that the kinda shit you have to filter when voting objectively.

the reason i didnt post battles was becuz i didnt want niggas saying i was "bitching" like i previously mentioned. but just off the top of my head id say Rainy and Ticket, me and TalkSick, and me and remarK. just off my head. and in no way am i mad or butt hurt at those dudes. i just honestly thought i won. the point of this thread is too address bias a bit and lame voting. get me?

like for instance.. me and Talk's league bout... Askari told me i had all the FVC+mod votes and that he didnt know why i lost. i dont really know either. i asked RULE and Rhet about it and they said that there was no problem on the battle (even though a lot of the votes were from no avatar dudes if you get me) and that there was no reason to change it. again i aint mad at anyone here, i just disagree. i wish battles could be more indepthly explained at least so im not stuck here goin "why the fuck...?" that more stuff needs to go into account when deciding battles.

I think everybody has different views of what is the most important thing in a battle.

Wordplay; some people LOVE wordplay, e.g. SWAVY, DeNiro B Milk.

Flow / schemes; I don't know how people use flow in a text battle, but I see it a lot. So I guess 'readability' and structure is the most important factor for some voters. This is a deciding point with Rhet, Vitriol and Askari.

Punches; The majority of the site vote on punches I would have thought, RULE, May, UNKNOWN ARTIST, yourself.

Personals; I think this is the second most important factor in a battle, if somebody is personal with it and it's REAL, even if the punches lack slightly but hit hard enough, then that tips it for me. Personals > Fake personals.

Entertainment; Most important, punches can be dope, if i'm bored... i'm fucking bored. Gotta be entertained. I know others like FUEL, FAME and Vitriol vote strongly on this.

Comedy; Important to people like FAME and FUEL again, similar to above. Jokes > Shitty bars. Bars > Jokes for me.

Creativity and Originality; I think a lot of people are starting to vote on this, if a line/bar/verse is played the it losses a LOT of points instantly. Rarely see a played verse come up as the winner at the moment (apart from MaCcs verses)

Probably missed a LOT. It's difficult to say 'the best verse' and everybody agree as everybody has different ideas on what makes something the best.
