Text to Audio transition
I think we'll be seeing a lot more text to audio transitions in the coming months. Especially after X added those 100,000+ beats (Which i'm fucking loving right now).....
The open battles for Text is glitched, yesterday it happened to open Audio battles when X was integrating RocBattle... So maybe he's updating something for text and there is hope after all? :O lol....or its just glitched. who knows. blah. How many of ya'll will try to make the transition? |
I'm planning on making the transition pretty soon actually......
Oh no...wait....nvm |

Audio to me always seemed like alot more work for a more mediocre section. The voting is bad and there as so many less good spitters. Tracks would be appealing as fuck though.

B) And texters dont spit, they type |
A) No there is not. Audio battles get less votes and 95% of audio voters vote on mic quality and sound above everything else. The majority of the big names on the audio side don't even get the most simple of punchlines.
B) Audio battles don't spit, they rap. Yeah, if you want to be a faggot, I can be....erm...shit. |
Audio has no less than double the amount of ryders, Just
|
Eth..u havent battled audio (unless u have a multi u aint telling me about) in wich case id REALLY like to hear it lol
So I dont think you're qualiied to say...You say audio doesnt take into account the lines..because they "too dumb".. well I say text heads dont take in the whole package...so fuck u lol Khrhyme on the other hand has experiance of both...but then again K crys and goes on a thread binge every time he catches a loss...lol..he thinks everyone who doesnt vote for him is dickriding...I really dont want to get into this who "text v audio" thing..we'll be here all night arguing lol |

i agree with EtH to a certain point. you could have the dopest lines ever but if your mic sounds shitty alotta people will drop votes like "pulse needs to fix his mic, vb"....& it seems like audio heads don't understand the whole package as much as text heads... Text heads pretty much understand every aspect of battling... multis, flow, delivery, metas, punches, wordplays...textcees might not KNOW how to flow and deliver their lines, but if a textcee rated an audio battle they'd understand the lines that go over the average audio dude's head.
on the other hand, audio heads focus much more on flow and delivery, and how someone's voice is. sorry, but not everyone screams or has a high-pitched voice. i can't tell you how many times i've gotten "no delivery...lackin energy...monotone" but you know what mother fuckers, be grateful that Letsbeef has both aspects of battling and now audio heads & text heads are mingling. lets learn shit from each other and put it to use, instead of arguing. |

Im fuckin with you K relax..you notice the lolz < ? ..anyway..im not arguing with u guy's...its like talkin to a brick wall..just drop ya raps and have fun...1

audio Gets less Votes but to me. It helps Flow... Text is Stiffer! u gotta have the rights Caps on words, mutli's gotta Go perfect word play gotta have {' r "} this by it and some times i feel people just dont get it. cuz they dont flow it like me. on audio they Hear u so u can put swagg in itand get people to listen to u. thats y im messin wit audio now..
|
Just, I don't have to audio battle to really comment on it. Text means you have a much higher understanding of lines and punchlines etc. The rest of the audio aspects are like flow and delivery, something in which the listener will understaning by simply hearing it.
Audio guys aren't "too dumb", it's just that text gives you a much higher capability of writting lyrics and making punchlines. I believe that to learn how to write is much harder than learning how to flow and deliver. The only difficult thing about audio is learning your style, but for alot of the best guys it comes naturally anyways. |

Because you see an established text battler and judge him upon just a few audio battles. Look at the amount of time it will take an average new guy to letsbeef to reach any level of credibility, and then look at the average time it would take someone with good mic quality and natural rap voice to have flow and delivery. Unless you have the charts in front of you, I assume you cant lmao, but still ,you know what I mean.
This isn't coming from a 'texter'. Text to us all is just something to mess about with. But I believe I could outwrite any mainstream rapper in the game after a few years of being involved with text, and to me that's because when you fuck with text it gives you a much better knowledge than starting with rapping and audio as they did. Text guys also fuck up because they try to put text to audio, which doesent work. You must first simplify your concepts and then shorten your multies. The flow will then fall into place and delivery will take a few battles of experimentation but it come quick enuf |
eth.. i rap using a fucked up mic..get that out of ya head....u can either flow or u cant..now try again and answer my question...
|
I'm only saying this because ur dismissing delivery and pressence like its nothing..and putting it all down to mic quality
|
Infact..This debate is past old...find something else to debate about fellas...I'm out
|
Go find me a good first account text battler with 57 battles. If you say "But I did tracks", then you can find one that did text cyphers.
Text is just generally harder to do than audio in my opinion. I imagine that if I had the sound for it and the studio, I could do it just as good as anybody not only on LB but half of the mainstream rappers. Half of the mainstream rappers 'flow' conprises of a shit load of multies. Hell Em is mainly multies mixed with storytelling (erm...topicals?). The delivery is something that can be learned if you try to learn it. Look at grindtime, half already have delivery, and the other half just pracised it for a little bit. It's not THAT hard. |
What the fuck are you on about??? I think this dude is prolly one of the proudest text guys I seen in a while I mean look at his sig... @ the end of the day, you can have the illest shit ever written, but if you cant spit it theres no way you'll ever win a real battle and you'll just be stuck with text which will NEVER however much u may disagree recieve the amount of attention that real battles do. Think of all the great mc's that've choked hell even RealTalk had it happen and dude is hella nice. I got no h8 towards text but saying that its a superior forum of practicing rap is total bullshit. Most of them cant spit, so they text.

^ exactly why I let it go..beyond old
|
Let's get this thread back on its original topic. How many of you are going to be making a transition to doing both audio and text or just doing audio?
|
Is the lag issue fixed? I'll start back up if it is.
|
New audio recorder deals with that issue. You get a waveform of your voice you can move so that it matches the beat correctly.
|
ok back to grudging , im just saying if u really look at it ...text is the root of audio battling , blah
im just saying you dudes dat vote on text battles just read it nd dont say it out loud , so there for when u go to audio it should be , ok , ok , ok the whole package yup... probably didnt make sense but hey ..both is cool as fuck ..... |

Mindless, thread diversions is my thing :D.
Slypro (I think), I not proud of texting, but I'm not ashamed. Audio battling won't help you win a real battle either, and I'd say even less so than text. Watch grindtime, if they sound real slick and have good flow, that shit makes fuck all difference. Rone sounds awful and has awkward flow, but I bet he'd body anybody currently on this site in a real battle (perhaps not if the current guys keep working but right now, yeah). Real battles are all about the lyrics, not the sound and not the rapping. Anyways, I dont want to be a battler, hell I barley even text battle, it's just something I think is true. In reference to my sig, I consider topical battles to be like a rap quivilent of poetry, so just as poets are proud of their acheivments, I'm proud of my in that sort of field. My topicals arent about rap stuff, and usually have some sort of life undertone or something properly meaningful, so yeah I'm proud of them, and you can call them text but to me its writting. |
most GrindTime battlers got their start doing text battles....that is all.
|
pULSe, that's definently not true. Text battling is only so big in comparrison to real battling.
Damn, I just argue with everyone don't I? |
Quote:
a good performance will get you a long way... trust me |
Fame, true, they do, but soooo many people develop that like, instantly. Plus, punches and connections > presence and delivery. Delivery and flow are easier to develop than punchlines and lyricism.
|
yeah... i wasnt sayin it was the main part of it.... i was just pointin out that you cant totally dismiss it at all lol
|
When I said it makes no difference, I meant to someone who has no content. It's like putting make up on a fat chick, it doesent make it any better, but if theres a good looking chick in the first place, make up can make her looks super hot.
|
LMFAO @ your comparison..... your a fuckin idiot haha
but i get what ya sayin.... just about lol |
Quote:
no....actually... I don't even wanna say text "battling"...but most GT rappers did the "online thing"...or "text thing" if you will...meaning...battling on websites, posting open mics, fuckin.....battling on Yahoo. & I say this with confidence because it takes a textcee at heart to know a textcee at heart.....plus, other things that PROVE they have an online background, but thats not for letsbeef..... |
Jeez, how silly of me, here's me lecturing you about fat bitches. That's like telling rican about mowing lawns or telling pulse how to pronounce tortoise wrongly.
