Voting: A Serious Note
 

Aiight yall....

I made no bones about it, Krhyme Killz is back at the text game. I'm going to be active at battling and in the forums. Since my return, i've noticed a SERIOUSLY sharp downturn in the quality of the votes.

This is not at all a thread about bitching about the amount of votes, rather a forum for those willing to change the problem. I'm not naive enough to think it can be solved, but i am confident that imroving the quality is not too tough of a task.

I'm seeing ALOT of cats voting with either hate in their heart or some SERIOUS lack of education of this battle shit. Its actually got to the point where i feel like i'll either win or lose based upon which person some no name cat decides to vote.

I'm not attempting to get the FVC back together, rather, to implore all of you to take a few extra moments to vote with care. This means that you actually explain your vote, without uncovering which textcee you've voted for.

It's really not that difficult. No need to give the long expos of the Classick RULEian or Krhymian nature lol...just fucking explain what brought you to your conclusion

Now I can't vote, but when I had my PC, it seemed like you can vote on every single battle around, and still end up getting a 3-0 loss to a new guy despite multiple forum posts. Makes you think "Why the fuck should I?"

That's what I'm sayin..and I agree..votes suck, but I've dropped horrible votes....on horrible battles...with no expo, but really.....most battles here do suck..and the majority of the hotlisters..don't deserve hotlist...not gonna name, but those who actually read battles know..

while its tempting to do that...trust me..lol...those are actually the battles that need the most expos....how else do they elevate?

I don't give a fuck about people elevating. I had to teach myself through reading and listening to battles. Long process, but better than being babied. I generally don't give a fuck who wins or loses..Not saying I don't drop honest votes, I just don't feel it's necessary to expo for dudes who post 15 battles a day...they aren't going to take what I have to say and get better..they're gonna concentrate on keeping their record clean...

Lies. Everyone needs some advice. If you get none, you wont understand the punchlines of the vetran's battles you are reading and you wont fully grasp multies and syllable counts so you will never elevate,

It's not lies. You know exactly how much I've improved..lmfao I was terrible when the only site I went to was BBE, then I came here and started taking battle after battle after battle...for my record..and wondered why I still wasn't considered good...then I read some Real Talk/DaDDiO verses...maybe a few other verses...kinda got it, but I've watched enough and read enough to where the structure and format was understandable enough to start writing my own stuff. Everyone's different though.

why vote at all then?

I really only vote on battles that interest me. Expo depends on how I feel. Usually when someone asks for the expo I'll give it.

Yeah, I agree voting on here has gotten horrible, my last loss was due to major uneducated votes, every vet that voted on it gave it to me, but all the no avatar having/horrible record guys voted against me. So to start off the serious voting, here's a battle link

so Why Don't Someone Bring Them Back? or Start A New One. I know If UNKNOWN ARTIST Gave What He Used To Give For The People Who Voted On At Least 10 Battles A Day. Think About It, Let's Say You Battle Once A Week X 4 = 4 Times A Month = 48 Times A Year Which Would Be Reasonable And If You Actually Improved And Read, Practiced, Etc.
But The Problem Is People Battle WAY Too Much So They Need Fast Credits, Therefore, We Get Shit Votes.

Voting has gotten worse, people only need to give a REASON for they vote and shit would improve ten-fold.

@Krhyme - I agree with you Krhyme, but seriously. I'm a detailed voter and still was overlooked for FVC when I was trying to make a difference. Emcee items and stuff DO encourage more voters. From there It's just the difference between quantity and quality. If we have MORE voters maybe was can have MORE moderation to oversee the activity.


Iono, I've been trying to draw cats that battle a lot into the forums so they can see the community aspect behind battling. They can see the importance of battling and that "lead by example" will pay for itself. Had I not started checking the forums, I would have never started building the way I did had i not started chatting with all y'all....honestly....

The site has an issue with voting. I know I'm no vet, but coming on, I could see there were issues right away. I think if people were forced to register first, then go through a period of no vote/no battle (so just access to forums and viewing/hearing battles, dropping cyphers, etc.) they'd get a better feel for what the site is all about.
I know I'm a rookie to the site, but that's just my thoughts on it. I'm sure that, combined wit your FVC would fix the voting system that you all dislike.

Lmao. Honestly speaking, there is no such thing as an unfair vote. If they explain why they voted how they did, it's justified. If they don't put an expo, it's suspicious to the person who got voted against.

I think the FVC is a great idea. It's just the way it was maintained the first time was crooked. It was more prestige-based than voter-based.

Secondly, you only saying my votes suck cuz one went against you. I was expecting more out of you, but perhaps it's rust...who knows. I explained why I didn't vote for you. I could care less if I'm blocked. But, that's where the majority of the issues are...people get voted against, but they think they shit is the best, NO MATTA WHAT.
So, slow down. I saw your battle with Culprit and you wudda copped a W from me on that. You had some really hard punches and while Culprit was going more for multies/flows. Your punches were just too much to overcome. 9-8 you. FYI
