Tournaments should stay disabled unless the site picks back up.

I get your way of looking at it but I feel like a tourney would generate activity and interest at least from current members who are battling. I feel as the ones currently active won’t be for long as there’s no actual “reward” or something to look forward to so they’ll eventually give up also.

I get that. It's just been done so many times before and most guys are on the edge or already no showed. Weveve been trying to push tournaments for years. The site needs a major update, not just tournaments. This is basically the 2006 site you're currently viewing.

Haha it's a newer account. I got here in 2011 but it's well known that the sites been the same long before that.

Was thinking of running another tournament for the audio side, or another text tournament with a few twists. But Punk makes a good point. My tourny did well but I think that's because there was money involved. A standard tournament might not get people as excited as it used to especially with the activity where it is.

Complete with trophy or Green name in a diff color or.. so many ways to ramp up,.. activity , buy ad space.. make a YouTube commercial,.. buy banners on other sites,.. or slots on youtube creators Vids.. they will get people to visit... hit up dna tooth tf..

The only thing that moves me, is if i troll someone and they get invested,.. that's what's missing.. dude's who make waves get banned and who ever is left over create the narrative,.. (i.e. mods).. but some people come back and get to do what they want..(i.e. Eth,Bnas,Ammo)

I think they should create a betting system.. create tokens worth money, and have them transferrable as gifts to get around the betting angle,.. and have them be redeemable for cash again, create a bank .. that's what i'd do..

Ok let’s settle and get back to the actual topic, getting a tourney going and maybe some cash prizes. Who is the site owner and how can I get in touch with him? Seems like he’s done with this site.

And Zul, apparently you’re a vet prior to current name. If you don’t mind me asking, what name did you go as prior to this?

Site ownership doesn’t really get involved with this stuff, the best bet is to go through the mods. Users are more than welcome to run their own forum tourneys with cash prizes; if we want to put something through the official tourney brackets I’d be happy to run it although I’d also probably want to participate.

If I was on Staff I would just start it myself, sure give the Admin/Super Mod a courtesy heads up but sometimes you've got to push the envelope, especially when activity is this low.

Off topic: One thing I hate is when guys who win tournaments today or barely had any type of competition in it gets compared to actual champions who had fire runs.

I agree with it not being an official tournament..

But also, this site may never return to the way you experienced it with crazy activity and bunch of heavyweights. That doesn’t mean the site has to die out and just look only back at history. It’s like the real hip hop world, yea the guy back in the day were legit emcees but the game has to continue as new artist come out. The legends of this site have solidified their positions in hall of fame already and in order to drive new activity and competition, there has to be rewards and awards for everyone to step up and improve and create their own path.

If all the sick vets want to come back and battle they’re all more than welcome to join and take the title and the bread. Till then, the site must go on and new legends must be born. I understand the vets been here a hot minute and they don’t want to let go of the good old times but on the other hand you can’t punish the new emcees and draw them out simply because their talent level doesn’t equate “what it used to be”..
