If there were a HOF for people who have made an impact on the site through their forums presence, their crew activity, and helping others elevate, EtH would be its GOAT no doubt. However, even though as I said he's my favourite battler to read atm, I do not think he could be considered for text HOF. As I understand it he's only been an actual heavyweight quite recently, and even during that time I don't think he's ever been the top textcee on the site, or even one of the contenders. imo to be HOF you can't be "top 10 on the site right now" when you were at your pinnacle, you have to be at least vying for top spot, which EtH hasn't been up until this point. He was on an impressive run over the past few months and he has an opportunity now to become HOF-worthy if he can find the motivation, but at this point I do not think he is even particularly close to the Text-battle HOF.

I'd say I'm definitely top 10 now, but you definitely have to be higher than "top 10". You have to be competing for that top spot, or at least had several accomplishments.

I put a lot into verses. They don't take time to write but I can't battle you 16 lines open, then 16 lines tournament. I try not to write throwaways and want everything to be a bit of fun. So once I lose a little motivation, that's me done for months.

I'm also shit at tournaments. Entering round 1 I'll write a fire verse against Lizman and by round 3 I've written something half asses against Edgeworth.

Just the way it is. We used to have Patriarchy before Pugz ruined it which gave a few of us essentially "Hof for contribution".

Y’all are crazy if you don’t think EtH could seriously earn HoF if he wanted to. He has in his verses what the vast majority of battlers DON’T in theirs, and that’s an entertainment factor. When an EtH battle drops, you stop what you’re doing on the site to read it because you know he’s about to say some shit that’ll have you entertained. I’d rather read 1 EtH verse than 100 Shiznit verses and y’all have him closer to the HoF than EtH because he’s a GC. Totally backwards thinking, imo.

It's his style actually, and make no mistake the dude is a beast and prolly one of the only ones on this site who could quite literally troll an opponent with his verse too !! Just like how Rieper has his style mastered with his wording and execution EtH is the only other dude on this site who has literally mastered his own original style. That is a big fucking contribution from his end to the game if u ask me and the dude is pretty unbeatable if he wants to be. Yes consistency could be an issue but thats not something you can keep up with his kinda style at ALL. denying him the proper credit would taking away from this art of text battling itself tbh.

being hof means being fucking insane at battling. eth isn't. seul and lock both have like 4 plus titles, and dominated w/o question. eth has never dominated w/o question.

i like eth, but hof already has too many members that dont belong.

First, this is why I write. Seeing shit like this shows me that I was doing good and exactly what I wanted to be the result is what it was, so I'm happy to see that.

But I disagree with the rest. I wouldn't say I just have the ability. I lack consistency to really go on huge impressive runs. Consistency is a skill. Staying motivated is a skill. It's not that I just choose to lose motivation, I just don't possess that skill that you have.

Think of it this way; when a tournament drops and I'm in it, is anything thinking I'm winning? If you see you're up against me, sure, you might be like "Fuck it's EtH, I better go super hard here", but you still don't think I'm winning the tournament. You HAVE to be viewed like that to be HOF. You HAVE to be a consistent top contender, which I have never been.

Dissizit was viewed like that. Do I think I'm a better battler than Dissizit? Hell yeah. But there's a reason he'd have been ranked way above me by my own admission in the Top 100 battlers thing. You have to make achievements to be HOF imo, otherwise we risk falling into that WWE bracket where we put The Godfather in HOF.

I've spoken many times about how Mayneak doesn't deserve HOF. He was never viewed as a legitimate contender against the likes of Illy, UA, Notch etc. He was always a fair bit below them, likewise with NawkOut, and they never actually achieved anything in their runs. I haven't either, and I'm not viewed as a legit tournament contender against Lock, Sho, Esso etc.

However, that being said, every single person deciding to drop their little bitch comments like "Lmfao are you serious" either would be or have been walked by me in a text battle. Phil Banks chirping up like he even knows what a punchline is. Dude's walking around with his nostrils superglued together cause if he sneezes his family dies.

Imo a HOF should be a cliff notes of the site history....if you can’t tell a fairly complete summary of the site history without mentioning so and so, then they should be in.

imo. i think @EtH should be hall of fame. but as an exception to the rule. yes battlwise, he may not garner the most accolades, or big wins,etc. but i think solely on the site impact he has made thruout the years. his knowledge, his trolling, his mentoring , his tireless efforts to bring to light defficiencies in how the site was being run, trying to bring ideas to improve, taking initiative, and ruffling featherz,and pushing buttons and having the biggest fucking sweaty ballssaks to say the shit that most people want to say but, wont.. love him or hate um, i think thats worthy. plus he can be an amazing battler, topical, or even scheme when hes not such a lazy cunt on the dole... and actually focuses...
