Staff in Question pt. 5 - RULE has been REBORN
 

I want to kick off by saying I love what RULE is doing on LB right now and he's putting in a lot of good work. But if I'm going to callout 2FUEL for creating a multi account and lying about it, it would be hypocritical for me to avoid calling out RULE for not only doing the same thing, but for trying to self-battle. For anyone wondering, self-battling has always been against the rules on LB. Add to this that it's currently a tournament month and RULE would be using the win over himself to qualify, there's a lot of issues with this.

As for the self battling, to frame things I never even asked RULE if he wanted to battle REBORN on the LBT. After I tried to bring him in to battle GOOD GRIEF after Rican pulled out, he later suggested that he is already battling REBORN (now CAIN) and that I could put it on the card. He was fully intending on battling himself of his own accord.

I would reach out to REBORN to see if he was cool with this. As you can see below, RULE was fully committing to the "I'm a new guy and don't understand" gimmick.

And finally, as 2FUEL had told me the battle wouldn't go ahead and I questioned IAmFlow about the account, I presume that Flow brought it to RULE who decided to back out of the battle in light of everything being revealed.

Not only is battling under a multi account, knowing that it takes away any potential personal lines, a complete bitch move...but self battling is just straight up against the rules for a multitude of reasons.

As I said, I'm a fan of what RULE's doing and I'm cool with him. But if I'm going to callout Gutz or FUEL for doing what they've done, how can I omit this as well?

Im not entering the tourney, made that clear multiple times. Me being ranked is to create wildcard slots for the tourney.

Okay....but self battling is still against the rules regardless of the tournament.

It's obviously against the rules. Anyone from your crew could vote on CAIN battles without knowing it was you. Let's not act like Rican wouldn't have caught a ban for self battling.

At this point I think multi accounts need to be banned. The only thing they are good for is trolling and fuckery. They bring nothing of worth to the website and cause a variety of issues. It is a system that is easily exploited and abused and at this point anytime a new user logs on, they are at best suspected of being a multi, and at worst accused and accosted because of it. If I was brand new and people started saying shit like "oh, whaddap rican." And other weird sly comments that I knew were directed at me but didnt really understand, I wouldnt log back on.

Multi accounts are gimpy, always hated them, but at the same time the main issue is battling yourself here. Like RULE mentioned MahVulvas who caught a ban for it. It's been against the rules for the entity of the site's existence. If Rican didn't know that he couldn't vote against Punk on his Stalin account would we just say "Oh you didnt know? Cool lets move on"

I agree wholeheartedly, eth. However, unless in misinterpreting something, in this case that never happened. It's like I made a plan with my homie to rob the gas station (that's bad) but we never robbed the gas station (that's good) so it's not really punishable like that. So while that is the issue. Multis are the cause. Like aside from misleading the site, theres no need.

I'm just imagining rican showing up to a live battle in a brown trench coat and those fake nose and mustache glasses like. Oh I'm Nacir, Rican couldnt make it and he asked me to fill in. It's stupid. Stop it.

This cracked me up. But, Ricans Multis all already got banned anyway. Are there other harmful Multis out there to justify banning Multis sitewide ?

I'm not saying ban RULE. I'm not even saying he should have got anything if he did the battle as context needs to be applied.

With @Aggo on this one. I was straight accused of being Rican for a long time. Got kicked out of dedsec over it. Did a shitty audio to prove it. Multis cause a huge issue for new guys.

Also this is a case of jumping the gun. Id RULE had gone through with the battle then i could see EtH having a point. If I say something like "I wanna battle yung santa" but don't actually do it. It's completely different than actually doing.

I'm not saying anything should happen, but guys acting as though Zezmer wouldn't be enjoying a week ban for the same action are clueless.

@2FUEL told me the battle straight up wouldn't happen. Why? Cause of course RULE wouldn't battle himself. He thought I'd got something wrong because there's no way the "head mod' would blatantly break the rules.

Yeah i mean if I said I would battle my multi in a tourney i could see mods looking into it. But i think their shouldn't be any punishment on RULE atm for considering it and not doing it. But it does show RULE is a little more snakey than I thought tbh.

That's actually not 100% true. When I originally came in 05 with my original account. We had no choice but to battle our self to build up the site. Due to so few members actually battling. However, voting for yourself has ALWAYS been against LB rules.

Actual note: Obviously trying to battle himself probably wasn’t the best idea. But doesn’t seem nefarious or malicious. Where as Rican, or anyone else, self voting or cheating in other manners with multis, which cheats other users out of wins, of course is. We let ALL BORO battle himself as Tiger Fire jist for the fuck of it, and to be honest it was probably the hottest audio battle last year lmao.

Lol Syco did that shit on the audio side in 08'. Now that shit was hilarious. Fucked up thing is - Syco lost against himself.

Personally I think @RULE was taking the piss. At least how I viewed it, hence me saying “this battle won’t happen”.

If you guys want to change the rules entirely because you like RULE, that's cool. I guess we need an official thread stating that battling yourself is allowed. Someone want to make that to clarify this for future incidents?

you shouldn't battle yourself. and i get how this comes off bad, and i think eth did the right thing pointing it out, but i don't think rule had any bad intentions. and he never did it either.

battling yourself under a multi that no one knows is wrong for a lot of reasons, but mostly because you're giving yourself a free win. like let's say i build up good elo on both accounts, then i kept battling myself and losing on purpose. i'd be always elevating the elo of my main. either way though, it's shady to battle yourelf.

rule didn't do anything wrong, and i don't think he was up to anything bad.

I dont think you should battle yourself. Its deceitful and fuckey. That said, get rid of multis and that, and a whole mess of other, problem is solved.

solution: all multis have to confirm with staff who they are and all staff must confirm with the site who they multis are.
