How are you supposed to maintain site activity when there’s little-no incentive to battle, it’s harder to start beefs, and there’s little-no group communication on letsbeef?

We need at least 1 monthly title or event imo, hope LBT comes back soon...

What is the connection between the chatbox and voting? Is it just that without the shoutbox to distract people are reading more battles and voting more. Is there any causation at all?

Also curious if voting decreased after a character limit was implemented.

Yeah it was taken away at the users request, not mine or X's. The idea was the chatbox distracts people from voting cuz they "dont wanna miss" anything being said (cuz the chatbox is hard to backtrack with how fast it moves)

I was literally thinking this yesterday. I'll ask X that question.

Maybe go back to being able to drop a fv noh8 vb vote. However those people get lowered vp. People who leave helpful expos get to keep their 2 vp. Voting becomes less of a chore for those who dont have the understanding or patience to leave a good expo. Battles get more votes. Battles with a lot of votes get more attention. People see a battle with 10 votes and assume it must be worth checking out. Positive feedback loop, and bam.

I like it. The character limit was made before my return so will have to ask X and see how he feels about it but i will ask the question.

Somehow the votes did increase though.

It's an incredibly small cross section to be gathering data and extrapolating from it. We didnt even get numbers. Just "voting increased since we took the chat box 5 days ago."

We need more people on the FVC and train them, tbh.

We need more people LIKE RICAN TO GO VOTE ON THE OPEN THC TITLE BATTLE AND THE TWO OPEN TAG TEAM BATTLES

i've been counting every vote in my data thread. there has been no significant rise or decrease in voting.

I don't think the chatbox or threads should have such a big impact on voting. It really comes down to people being more interested in the drama side of the site which is the forums etc, also known as the outlets to conversation and idle time lol. The same people who say voting is low, are the ones who drop maybe 1 vote a day, if that.

I think that utilizing the other sections, other then the basic area where everyone is posting could really benefit voting. Right now, you go to the battle sections and maybe 3 out of 10 battles are worth reading or hearing. If we started using that other section though, making it where you had to qualify in a way to use which would cut down on a lot of the clutter, then people might be more willing to vote because they know it's a worthy battle and they didn't have to search through pages of crap.

Just some thoughts.

The forums are pretty jumping since chatbox went down. That alone is proof that it was a good move.

The character limit needs to be improved on. Right now dudes can just leave a comment like "gbfv,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,," and the system wouldn't even detect it a a shit vote / spam. Although the character limit is a great idea that overtime just needs to be further improved.

Also, as Locky said, just hit up that THC and you'll find the beef you're looking for.

One more thing to add is that I feel like forum activity has ever-so-slightly increased ever since we've taken down the chatbox. I feel like we could make the chatbox a premium feature or a feature to those who make like 5 - 10 votes per week. That'd be dope....

tha chatbox not being on here anymore doesnt change tha level of peoples productivity.. it jus allows one to know that others are logged in, active on tha site and still arent voting. they arent going to vote anyway, this way, you dont have to sit up and read a bunch of blah blah blahs from members while wondering why they arent voting or if they are even going to vote.. but tha chatbox not being here deffo isn going to make one say "oh theres no open lanes of kommunication to instantly submit and receive messages, so i should go vote".... but tf do i know.

If they leave comments like .ojfjfljfjff/....then we can lower the vp as suggested @Barzooka

Right, there has to be some sort of incentive to get people to vote without having to force them to so they can participate in battles.
