What the FUCK is going on in this thread? there might be 1 or 2 half decent lines in here. People have no idea what a good line is, Jesus christ. No wonder the site is struggling. Row's opening post had some good lines and the BJ penn is pretty slick. But, Den ima / Denim a? doesn't make any sense at all. Ditto for BERRY YOUR PEOPLE (LOL). Pig/Hog her? Are you fucking kidding me? that wouldn't impress a 4th grader. That "head covered" line is so generic and it could be flipped a buncha different ways (umbrellas, masks, hats, burqas, a face on the front of a magazine, whatever other reachy shit). It's like saying something is red like a fire truck. You could say it's red like any of the other million things that are red, it's not creative whatsoever.

If this is the shit that passes for good bars around here, you're going to scare off all the real talent.

Pig / Hog lines ain't really gonna cut it, maybe back then? The lines look filler-ish, with weak flips at the end of them. The rhyming / flow of the bars are good though... so I can see why someone would appreciate the lines.

Just to clarify, this wasn't a shot at your taste in bars. It's more so a shot at Jason, cause he's considered a GOAT and those lines aren't good.

It could of just been that he was against a weak opponent, & went light... I don't know.

Jason's lines prior to this when he tried harder were probably better.

Honestly? Practically anything I said in the Rookie tournament is infinitely better than the bars I picked on. Sure, I may have had a line of filler here or there in the Ginge battle. So nearly all - but probably just all - of my punches in that tournament were way better than the stuff I picked out.

Here's some stuff some other people have said that I liked, just what I could recall off the top of my head. I've liked quite a few lines on here recently but just can't even remember what battle they were from to pull them up. I vote on too much shit to really keep a clean memory of that in my head, and I don't need to spend the time digging. These aren't my 4 favourite punches or anything, just examples of stuff I was able to quickly remember off top.

Which were posted by some of the currently respected guys on here. Guys that currently hold weight when it comes to voting. So if they consider them to be dope even by the standards of right now, would they really struggle that much in a battle today?

I mean we both know how easy it is to jump onto battles, grab a line, and then be like "nah nah this is so technically shit". That's why I never read one bar battles, they fucking suck isolated.

I agree on the idea of changes will occur in the future. A good battler should be able to adapt, though... besides I don't think Jason would be garbage if he came back, if you have a knack for this thing, i'm sure he'd find a way to impress us.
