Wilder VS Fury

Anyone except for Student (because he’s a bitch and should stay out of my threads) watch this fight? Was actually a GREAT fight even though Fury should’ve won. A draw is acceptable to I suppose but man, fury is too big to be moving that fast in the ring. Dude was an animal. That 12th round KO by wilder, I thought it was over. I’m sure everyone did..

EtH 12-02-2018 01:14 PM

"anyone other than Student"

Mate there's about 40 of us who've talked about boxing on here since 2007. Cant be a hipster this time.

Right. 100% legends called the judges trash. Wilder won maybe 2 rounds and that’s it. Fury looked damn good out there from the footwork, hesitation, to the combinations.

@Tag Team Champions, OP Edited for Better understanding.

EtH 12-02-2018 04:12 PM

I was initially going to keep being a wank, but the OP made me laugh irl so I guess I'll play nice.

Ironically, I haven't even fking watched it yet. Was working last night and because I need to find a link to the boxing I'm gonna watch TUF 28 / UFC Adelaide first.

As much as can be said about Tyson Fury, I'm absolutely mesmerised as to her PR abilities. From a complete scumbag, the shame of boxing, to being one of the most well liked and respected men in the entire sport in basically 6 months. Incredible ability to change people's perception.

I always felt he was overrated during his rise, but if he really managed to completely outbox Wilder to the point that he got knocked down twice and NO ONE says it was justified to even be a draw, he's gotten so much better than he used to be. AJ fights the same, if not slightly more technical than Wilder, and this experience means I reckon Fury is the best....which is mental.

Supsie 12-02-2018 04:54 PM

Nah G i didn't watch it but my friends where watching it at the pub and some bet on it, i could have gone to watch it but i went to the forest to reflect an be one with nature instead.

Supsie 12-03-2018 12:38 AM

DUDES!!!! I FUCKING WAS TALKING TO MY FRIEND TODAY ONE WHO BET ON THIS SHIT AN HE WON $30,000 AND HE WAS FUCKING SAD!!! BECAUSE HE WAS PLANNING ON TAKING OUT A LOAN LIKE A $10,000 TO PUT ON THIS SHIT... BUT DIDNT DO IT, FAGGOT WAS TRYING TO BLAME ME CAUSE I WAS LIKE (AND OTHER PEOPLE TOO) THATS KINDA RISKY U GOTTA PAY THAT SHIT BACK, BUT HE WOULD OF WON SOMETHING LIKE 3 MILL OR SOMETHING HE TOLD ME HOW HE WAS GONNA WORK IT OUT BUT DUDE WAS DEPRESSED AF WITH $30,000 MAAAANN IF HE WON WE WOULDNT HAVE TO WORK AGAIN CAUSE WERE BOIS WE HELP EACH OTHER OUT DUDE WAS CHATTING HOW HE WOULD OF SET UP THE HOUSE AN HAVE OTHER HOUSES N SHIT... DAAM I UNDERSTAND WHY HIS UPSET BUT STILL 30 GRAND IS NICE..

NOBLE 12-03-2018 01:18 AM

I didn't watch it, but for a dude to get knocked down twice and still win off points is pretty lame to me.

Control, and landed strikes go a long way.

Oh, I agree. But if it were a street fight and one guy knocked the other one out, I wouldn't say the guy that got knocked out won because he showed greater "control and more landed strikes" than the other guy for the vast majority of the fight. The knockout would be the exclamation point on the whole ordeal. Granted, Fury didn't get knocked out but rather he only got knocked down twice. If he hadn't got up, we wouldn't be saying he won or he got robbed despite the fact that he showed greater boxing skills throughout. The two knockdowns have to count for something. I think the decision draw was the best way to negotiate the situation, but it would have been extremely disappointing (imo) if Fury had won just on points. That should be reserved more for fights where there are no knockdowns or equal knockdowns by both opponents.

NOBLE 12-03-2018 02:45 AM

Also, a lot of people are saying the ref started the count late on the second knockdown and Fury should've been counted out.

J u s T C 12-03-2018 03:40 AM

Fury Robbed the fact 1 Judge would of had wilder winning without the knockdowns says it all. Even Lou Dibella Wilders promoter told fury he won (Before the scores were announced)

You dont win boxing fights offa 2 rounds won when the other 10 you were getting totally out boxed and made to look the wild 1 trick pony you are.

Klit got decked 3 times by Sam Peter and won. Plus numerous others. This is boxing not a streetfight.

Fury spent 3 years inactive in the gutter, overweight addicted depressed. had tune ups against bums then went on to fight the most athleticly gifted in shape heavyweight. Schooled him, made the most epic recovery from a knockdown in the 12th round (the 12th needs to be emphasized here) He looked FUCKING DEAD EYES GLAZED and all. Not only did he get up. it was like nothing happened n took the fight to wilder. My jaw dropped. Been watching boxing for 20 plus years n never have i seen a recovery like that.

And still after all that they robbed him his comeback. Soon as they said Split Decision I knew theyd do him dirty.

IT HAPPENS AAAAAAAAAAAAAALLL the time in boxing.

EtH 12-03-2018 04:46 AM

Lmao @ NOBLEs opinion. That's like saying LeBron James is wack because on the street he would get roughed up and couldn't grt thr ref to call fouls.

This isn't a street fight. Hell even if it was under bare knuckle or traveller rules Fury would have still got a 10 count.

Lets say we're talking a boxing arranged street fight (because if NOBLE means spontaneous, then its gonna just be an MMA discussion). There would be no time limit before points. At the end of that fight it was Fury standing tall, dealing more damage with more gas

lllllllllllll 12-03-2018 07:55 AM

Yeah knock downs don’t mean shit if you’ve been outclassed all fight. Fury didn’t just land single punches, dude landed full combinations multiple times. Wilder was just out there swinging impatiently, he said it himself. Got a few dead on but other than that, this wasn’t even debatable. Your judges were whack.

NOBLE 12-03-2018 11:18 AM

I know my opinion is outnumbered and I'll defer because I'm no boxing expert and I haven't even watched the full fight. You guys are right that boxing is not a street fight, and I'm probably wrong for having the tendency to view it through such lens. In any case, a rematch seems almost definite, and I suspect the result of that will be a lot less debatable.

This fight will set up a three fight series, imo.

This would only work if Wilder KOed him. If Fury won in any way, people will accept him as better and shy away frim a trilogy. People don't pay for controversial trilogies.

People were clamoring for the rematch before the decision was even announced.

Had Fury got the decision, there wouldn't have been a boxing fan on earth calling for Fury Vs Wilder 2 Vs Fury Vs Joshua.

Regardless, if Fury won a rematch in a similar sort of fight, there's no way there would be a third. It'd be seen as "justice is served" other than "oh, well, for some reason let's do it again?".

Unless there are two sort of organic fights, of which the results are split, people aren't that into them. Nate Diaz Vs Conor McGregor 3 will generate a lot of interest, although that being said it'd generate substantially less than McGregor Vs Ferguson, Khabib 2, GSP, Woodley etc. Trilogies only sell if the guys fairly split the winnings from the first two.

AJ throws large looping shots. I get it if you're a fan, but he's not out there working behind a defensive jab. Hes pawing out looking for a backhand shot and gets wild when chasing a finish.

IMagine RANT strolling into the burger shop acting like a high roller, then noticing the line is massive so he gets frustrated and aggressively complains out loud, a fellow customer whos also waiting in line tells him to shut the fuck up and lose some weight RANT then literally shits his pants in fear and goes waddling out of the store like a fat penguin at the north pole, every one in the store laughs.

Imagine RANT at school in class always putting his hand up when the teacher askes for an answer but the teacher doesnt pick him every time so he rages an asked whats the fucking deal? the teacher then replies "sorry faggot why don't you get the fuck outta my class"
