*New Tournament Rule*
 

From now on, the staff will punish anyone who posts a troll verse in response to a tournament battle with a minimum 15 points infraction. The amount of infraction points may be higher at the staff member's discretion. Posting troll verses in response to regular battles may also result in punishment.

And the offender won't be allowed in how many tourneys afterwards?

I didn't think there was a consensus for tournament exclusion in addition to an infraction, but there was a consensus for an infraction for sure.

Thing about a punishment, it's supposed to scare the person from committing the said crime. I don't think infractions scaring anyone. Just a thought...

An infraction punishes someone by preventing them from using the site. If someone cared about using the site, they probably wouldn't be posting troll verses.

They have to accumulate though, I would think people are more afraid of instant punishments.

False, only a ban would accomplish that. Which is why I asked how many tourneys offenders would be excluded from because 15 points isn't enough to get someone banned and even if they are banned it won't be for a lengthy period (baseline ban length is 1 week iirc)

No showing a tourney is already supposed to lead to you being excluded from the next tourney so troll verses should definitely be 2-3 tourneys.

@NOBLE How are you going to decide if a verse is a troll verse? What if the person just sucks, like me? You are going to disqualify me for using bad bars?

It's where discernment comes in, won't be that hard.

It's not about having bad bars. Posting a single sentence or half a verse that is intentionally bad/irrelevant compared to the person's previous battles would be examples. Basically, if we can tell that a person no-shows but decides to post something trollish.

If you're going to no-show, it's better that you post nothing at all than to post something that would be considered trolling. We don't want our battles used in this way.

I think that a one week ban, and a 3 tournament exclusion would be an apt punishment, personally.
