Idea (Undisputed greatest?)
 

Had this thought recently. I wanted to gauge interest, despite it being a stretch.

Basically, it's a GC exclusive tournament to determine the "undisputed grand champion."(Not necessarily a user title.) The grand champ to beat all champs, basically.

What would you guys think about this?

This needs to happen

LB has like 30 grand champs and only 5 are active.

I believe we tried this once( idea was presented). Didnt turn out well, noone showed up..........

The problem would be getting the non active vets to post or even show up.
How would you go about that without any form of reward, because once you've been doing this for so long the motivation to battle dwindles or you outgrow the craft.....

Unless there is some form of reward, it'd be hard to set this up.

Good idea.. Has been tried once, didnt work..... but it did turn into a rookie vs vets tournament that followed... Maybe that would be a more suitable idea for starters....

then that way you can guage the turnout rate, who posts, and try to organize a best of the best.

Well, the gc had a 250 cash prize. Maybe that's incentive enough to get some old gcs back.

When? I don't ever recall this, and I've been much more active through the years.

It was before the rookie vs vets... idea was proposed.... turned out the better idea was the rookie vs vets.. which had a decent turnout.. but the idea is if you cant get enough vets to battle vs rookies then gathering even 3/4 of the champions would be close to impossible.....

If anything maybe a 8 man grandchampionship tourney... IF you could get 16 former granchampions to sign up AND post i'd be impressed tbh.

But the rookie vs vets should def pop off sometime this year before or after illmania

Its a good idea none the less..... If you want credit for the idea go right ahead... lol

The point is do you really think you can get atleast 3/4 of the past champions to sign up (youd have to get a very high number of past champions in order to even call it a greatest of all time tourney), in a timely fashion, and post. This would probably be something to be held at the end of the year (good idea dont get me wrong)

But my point is how would you go about getting them to sign up...... besides messaging them, what incentive do they have besides knowing they are the greatest (which most of us already feel that way lol)

So those are the questions id propose. Good idea, just want to know how you would go about doing this......

It seems feasible to me that we could get at least 16 former GC's for this, with the aide of staff(the admins.). That's at least 1 from every notable era of LB.

-16 GRAND CHAMPIONS
-Winner gets either a cash prize (like the last GC), or some form of title. (this is in fact a grand championship tourney on crack lol) has to be an incentive.
-Message them (hit up RULE to run it) he seems to be able to get all the Grand Champs to come out of hiding.

You could make this real hyphy too....

For this tourney to legit you would need all the greatest GC to take place. If even one wasnt a part of it the concept would fail.

And the odds of getting Me, Illy, Jase, UA, Daddio, RT, Rupt etc etc all active is very very slim.

Quick skim and I see like 12 (Not all GC's) that could battle which isn't bad actually.

You can add like 4 at least, it'd be feasible but I don't think you could do all GC's, you could do like a Champion of Champions Tournament just to fill the spots, otherwise you'll only have like 8 (if that) obvious active GC's which wouldn't be that interesting. Plus if you expand on that and allow 2nd or 3rd place folks in there you get a bigger pool cause they're often overlooked just cause they don't have a title but they were so close to getting one.

Keep in mind that Jason, and Illimit were both online this month. Illimit as recently as three days ago.

The only big problem here I see is Daddio. But, there are possibilities of getting in contact with him. An admin emailing him, for example.

A true "Peoples Champ" Title would be dope. Actually have the site vote people into the tournament.

1) All members are eligible to vote their Top 16 in a single thread. Span ~7 days?

2) Top 16 cumulative vote getters are selected and seeded by the actual members of the tournament. Hosted by a mod not in the tourney.

3) The tourney is seeded by amount of votes + 5 for Orange Titles + 10 for Blue Titles (Current/Former LBA and LBT champs do NOT apply unless they have a GC or orange title)

4) Top 16 compete for the title The Peoples Champ

We've been down this road before. The winners would need to confirm participation by replying to a PM sent by the Host. Those that don't reply would then be removed and either

A) The Staff chooses the backfill
B) The next highest vote getters backfill the remaining slots.

This would be tough & you ultimately wouldn't get the true top dogs but doesn't really matter.. Would be a dope tourney.. If this doesn't happen another Rookie vs. Vets would be nice.

Also.. That audio tag team over beats would have been crack.

If possible at that point you could do audio winner vs text winner in a TRACK battle for the undisputed title....ehhhh

This is a stupid idea coming from @Rant who is the weakest GC ever. Tons of non-GC's that would shit on him rofl
