New Text Battle Editor is Live
 

We've got a new Text Battle Editor now with some features that should help make text battling more visual, and easier to understand where key elements and rhymes are (multies, punches etc).

I started with some basic features so we don't overwhelm the system with crazy colors and images etc. The editing features are BOLD, ITALICS and UNDERLINE and COMBINATIONS OF THE THREE

The Editor also supports DRAFTS so you can start writing a battle, and if you're not ready to submit you can start/join the battle later load your draft up. The drafts are saved locally for now, which means they have to be loaded from the same computer you started them on (they might sync across Chrome devices..).

Ha! Props on noticing that. I thought I would begin by just bolding the main rhymes. I think there is some experimentation to be done here before there is a consensus on how to use this new feature.

now all we need is to have a senders verse be hidden to the reciever til he responds, like tourney battles, and i may start battling again.

That completely eliminates flipping. That should be an option but not mandatory.

feeding off someones verse is frowned upon, but yeah as an option..

I think it would be good as an option when you start a battle.. call it "Blind"

Definitely. Whilst we're at it can we get rid of the advanced ratings (wordplay, punchlines etc.) they've become more of an annoyance than anything else.

An option for blind drops would be dope

Something that might be problematic with blind drops: People sending blank, or deliberately shitty, blind verses, to waste the recipients' time.

they do that and they get banned... permabanned.. im not gonna tolerate someone fucking around and taking advantage of a potentially dope option
