SO who are the best?

after taking a 6-7yr break from LB I also stopped keeping up with the battle scene during that time [to busy with work/kids/life etc]

When I left it was still murda mook, serius jones, Lux, 40.cal, Reed Dollaz, Reignman, Iron Solomon Smack Battles, Fight club battles etc.

From what I've picked up it seems smack URL & KOTD seem to be the big two promotions, both with their own style. I've been cramming in hours of footage a day atm just to see where the scene is.

So far i like Daylyt [who i already knew via ab-soul], Tsu Surf, Concieted, Rone, Charlie Clips, Hollow da don....

Soooo who am i missing? who would you recomend OR what particular battles would you suggest i watch

Also Iron Solomon just came back from 2-3 years and battled Daylyt (And won IMO) but that's not out yet.

I watched the Pat stay vs Charron battle, not my fave so far tbh

I see some of the old guys tried to resurface, Solomon, Serius, T-rex, Mook etc...

Not sure it was a smart decision lol T-rex was always shit imo though, Serius was good.

theres not 2 many nice niggas out anymore...there's like 5 nice niggas and like 50 overrated niggas

Iron Solomon, Charlie Clipz, Carter Deemz, Chilla Jones, Daylyt, Danny Myers = overrated niggas

Conceited, Diz, Thesaurus, Illmac = nice niggas

i guess Dumbfoundead gets an honorable mention. actually prolly one of my fav battles of recent memory was Con vs Dumbfoundead and now i heard Dizaster vs Dumbfoundead was another classic

I may need to watch Diz as i might of seen a weak battle, but i wasn't that impressed.

Also i disagree with Daylyt being overrated, the problem is he's inconsistent. Seems like some battles he just doesn't try that hard

Nah he's definitely not inconsistent. he just fucking sucks. I've seen enough Daylyt battles to come to that conclusion

1 outta every 8 bars he has one of those wordplays or punchlines that you cant believe he thought of himself... but for the most part he's not only overrated, he's mediocre too.

i think Daylyt's best verse was on that Total Slaughter TV show lol and thats only because the shit was like 6 bars so its almost impossible to come up with 6 shitty bars

Did anyone else notice pat just wasn't on his shit? He literally told us he doesn't care whether he wins or loses the title match..then he came with tons of self-hype bars maybe because he knew illmac would throw punch after punch. Perhaps he wanted to lose? that's what it looked like to me.

^Saying that is just a corny defense mechanism to cushion the blow of possible impending loss, I think. You see the same thing in every competitive facet in history. Pat says it in every battle since getting the chain, and there'd be people saying it was true if he had lost any of those. He'd have come with more "i dont care" bars in his next title defense. I like Pat, but I think this Illmac loss made me realize how mediocre he is. He's like 40% image, 50% style and 20% bars. Sure, everything sounds good but break it down and its the same Diz scenario just instead of crazy agression its the opposite.. chilled swag-style.

You're probably right, but performance/stage presence is almost as important as the lyrics you bring in live battling. If we were talking about who brings better lyricism, then Pat would have already lost his title match with Dizaster. It all depends on who's judging the battle. If you have a judge who listens solely to the lyricism, and tries to blank out how much reaction the crowd makes to the battler, He most likely wouldn't have voted for pat in any of his title defenses, but there are multiple judges.

New-era battlers I've been impressed by recently: Psycoses. Gjonaj. Big Kannon. Raptor (he used to be kind of bland but his Big Kannon battle showed he's got potential). K-Shine. Ogmios (super-unconventional, but totally brilliant). Rum Nitty. Lunar C. If Oxxxymiron (russian battler who happens to have a masters degree in english studies) ever decides to battle in English he'll be unstoppable.

@Godbody I still disagree with the Daylyt issue, his battles vs. Chilla Jones & Ooops were very good imo. But its just my opinion, not fact lol

watched his battle vs Madchild made me laugh, Madchilds an odd guy. First I've seen of him.
