As some of you know, I've tossed this idea around before, but, this is something that Subreal are looking to begin working on an OFFICIAL letsbeef magazine, with both PDF, and POSSIBLY physical copies. We're aiming for a weekly schedule, but, that may be a bit difficult, so reasonably, at this time, I'll say monthly issues of probably 20-30 pages of material regarding the site.(The opening issues will likely be a bit smaller until we get into a nice work rhythm.) And perhaps even some off site news concerning live battling, and hip-hop culture in general. With that said, would an official letsbeef magazine be something that you are interested in?

YES. I Believe We Need To Move Away From Rap Battle Slightly And Focus On Hip-Hop In General (Underground AND Mainstream) To Attract New Users. Battling Is On The Decline But If This Website Is Re-branded Into A Hip-Hop News Outlet / Producer I Think It Can Survive. Still Keep The Battling But Start Bringing More News, Stories, Features, etc.

Agreed that it would be cool...but...This has been done before and if I'm correct, I believe it only lasted one issue.

RhetoriK and AKrid Artz were the authors and creators but, due to Inactivity it died.

If someone would 100% stick with it, it would be beneficial and I would love to participate.

I almost did this once, and have many interviews saved up. I'd love to be able to interview people, if possible.

They did a forum style mag, if I'm not mistaken, that's not what this is.

That's not what this is. Me and Rant are aiming for an actual magazine.

Social networking. I'm also going to try to get in touch with a few friends who run their own mag, about getting some of their readers interested through promotional efforts by them, and about ideas for how to go about promotion. What I'd REALLY like to do, is get some interviews with mid tier-ish live battlers. Their following may help in regards to promotion as well. But, the latter is a long term goal.

Basically, a lot of spamming on hip-hop related sites.

What if you pretended to be a black guy?? would that help your efforts??

I already tried that. It didn't help.

I honestly don't think that having a magazine about a fucking Internet battle site would interest people. I would either go all the way with a hip hop mag, or not do it.

I think the inclusion of hip-hop, and live battling news makes it more appealing. But, I mean, in order for it to be a LETSBEEF magazine it has to have SOME relation to the site, and site news. There's no reason you can't sprinkle stuff in about LB. There are a lot of things happening that aren't focused solely on internet battling on the site. IE: Crew mixtapes, and individual mixtapes. The radio shows, etc.

Still, a magazine centered around internet battling doesn't seem like something that would appeal to the public. You also have to consider that the online hip hop market is extremely, if not over-saturated. I honestly don't think that you could come up with anything that isn't already out there.

That's the thing, though, it's not ENTIRELY centered around online battling. Which I've just pointed out. Lol. Like I said, not only does this intend to include outside of LB news about the hip-hop culture, and the battle rap culture, but, there are also things outside of online battling that letsbeef is doing. Let's not forget that the site DID just recently host its first live event, which went fairly well. Especially so for its first showing in that form. There are also members of the site who do live shows themselves, with their music. Also, it's not necessarily about bringing something people haven't seen, as much as it is about doing what people have seen better. It's not something that's going to be a walk in the park, by any means. But, it is something that could flourish, given dedicated work, and a steady grind.

First off it has nothing to do with patience. It's your iffy track record.

2nd. the interviews are the easy part. You just ask questions and let the interviewee do all the hard work.

Why do you think people post interviews and call them "magazines" because it's a piece of piss to do.

I'm not a monster. If you pull through I'll pat you on the back and give you the benefit of the doubt the next time you come up with an idea.

But it works both ways so right now I'm not a believer and that's brought on by yourself.

You could make a thousand of these threads. scrap the ideas every time and these clowns will still entertain you on take 1001.
