Tournament voting panel?

I notice that votes on tournament battles are typically pretty scarce, leading often to extensions of the round. I posit, that a tournament voting panel of 10-15 DEDICATED voters would help this issue. At the very least, by providing tournament battles with the bare minimum number of votes. Obviously, all members will still be able to vote on these battles, but, this panel would be selected specifically for voting on tournament battles.

Discuss.

It wouldn't hurt to have a group dedicated to voting on tournies. The only downside I can see is when the people who sign up end up not fulfilling their obligation of voting. Would you be interested in being part of such a group? Also, what do you think we should offer as incentives for people doing this?

I would be interested in being on such a panel of voters.

Babylon 11-29-2014 06:18 PM

As would I, Lockhart. Not only have I demonstrated in depth anilyzation of verses in elevating numerous members, but was once previously an FVC member as well.

I got bored with the tediousness of the FVC, and this would be optimal for me as it's not a constant stream of voting requests.

No ones gonna wanna read EVERY battle.. Especially during the first and second rounds. Niggas get lazy af real quick. Half of the people here don't vote now because they lazy as shit.. Them being our main voters in a tournament.... nah

The concealed vote bullshit needs to go tho. Like any nigga can drop concealed vote in the comments but prolly skimmed through the shit.. For example, a while back @V3numb exposed to the world that he skims through battles when he votes..

Row 11-29-2014 06:34 PM

voting panel is cool, offer a consequence for those who join tourneys and dont vote

Subreal 11-29-2014 06:39 PM

what @Row said i think everyone participating in the tournament should be required to vote on all the other tourny battles that they are able to (crew relations)

I don't know, man. I'm not sure that this is something that really necessitates a title. I think this is something people should choose to do for the site, rather than something being offered to them for doing it. This is something that could really turn around what I've perceived as an issue over the course of the past, maybe, 3 tournaments we've seen, at least on the text side.

@NOBLE ^ See above, but, the idea of an incentive, as you know, is something that will draw more people's interest. So, I guess that incentive could be something small, perhaps an award. Or, perhaps custom graphics for their sig, that they can have customized, but, also fit their role within the site as the tournament voting panel? I know @V3numb makes really dope GFX, and you've made some decent graphics as well. This is also a way to get the GFX portion of the site more active. Perhaps hold a contest to determine who gets to make the graphics, and offer them a small cash prize for that contest, and the subsequent work?

V3numb 11-30-2014 11:41 AM

how long ago did i confess to skimming through battles?

Rant 11-30-2014 12:22 PM

@V3numb, what does that have to do with GFX? Lol.

V3numb 11-30-2014 12:27 PM

idk i skimmed through the post lol

Yeah, I was going to suggest bringing people in from other sites. Which could help to increase activity for LB, as well.

I agree. I don't think its something that warrants a title either. Plus after all the effort we've put into getting rid of non-essential titles (Mafia Winner, etc), I'm reluctant to add another one just for people to vote on tourneys.
I think a good incentive may be a "Tournament Top Voter" award. Basically, whoever is running a tourney will have a list that keeps track of who's dropping votes on the tournament battles and at the end of the tourney, whoever drops the most fairs gets the tourney top voter award regardless of whether or not they were a participant. This can be given to more than one person if they all drop a certain amount of votes. What do you think?

Thats good, more people will definitely wanna laugh at ur wack rapping abilities bro. Let em know what time it is!

Row 12-01-2014 02:21 AM

those who join tourneys and not vote shouldnt be eligible to join a next tourney

ILLoKWENT 12-01-2014 03:16 AM

How about if the participant doesnt vote on all the tourney battles theyre able to then they get votes in their favor totaling the amount of battles they didnt vote on deleted... so if 5 open tourney battles and x didnt vote, then x loses 5 votes..

This could also be cool. I'm still partial to the idea of signatures, but, only because of the possible increase in activity to a neglected section of the site. But, there are other things we could put graphics towards rather than this particular venture. IE: Shirt designs, flyers for live events, etc. So, yeah, an award would be dope.

damn bro, even better:high:

TalkSick 12-01-2014 11:58 AM

I'm down if those goes through. Lemme know and Il give my two pennies on all battles.

NOBLE 12-02-2014 01:37 AM

The question is who is willing to make the sigs for the top voters? Personally, I only do GFX when motivated and right now I don't even have a PC cause my laptop's fucking up. I'm using a tablet, and making sigs on this thing is damn near impossible for me.

This is true. When you think about it, work isn't really an incentive to join/win a contest. Lol.

Good ideas. This could work well.

I Hate That Incentives And Groups Have To Be Formed For People To Vote, It's Disgusting And Wasteful.

Rant 12-02-2014 09:54 PM

LB forum posts should have a kudos, or props option.

Student just got two kudos.
