GC Should be invitational.
 

Lets be real here, you only need 1 or 2 wins to solidify a spot. Most of the top 60 or whatever it is now is pretty much new comers with a few good battlers that battle a few times. A lot of vets come alive during this time to battle, I honestly think there should be a thread made by whoever's running it. You post if you're interested and they pick the best active battlers that put their name down. This would stop a lot of the no shows from the rookies that get thrown into the mix. Just my 2 cents, think this should really be the way though.

Cosigned. Many of the people on the top of the rankings are there because they are snipers. Talentless sniping hacks, such as Bnas, should not get into the GC. Fortunately, that particular guy is history, but there are others who aren't.

I asked @RULE a few weeks back about when the next All Star tourney would be, he said there probably wouldn't be one, seeing how bringing back some of the older heads would be difficult or not really possible.

On topic though whats the point in a GC if its only open to a few select people? You could be missing ou on some decent cats with a fresh style compared to the current one. Its also an oppurtunity for the newer guys to elevate as most if the time they won't get to face someone decent.

It's a good point, though there isn't 64 active "good battlers" though. If there where, all 64 of them would be in the top 64 of the month for Qualifying month.

Also, the Grand Championship has always been this way. Other member's whether noobs or just shite, have the right to be in the tourney as much as the 'forum heads' do. The Grand Championship is a 64 man tourney. if it was invitational, it wouldn't be a 64 man tourney. (due to activity)

Its left up to the discretion of whoever is hosting the GC. In the past, the GC has sometimes been part top monthly qualifiers and part invited battler---never totally invitational though. So instead of all 64 entrants being from the top 64 of the previous month, we can do top 48 monthly qualifiers get placement then reserve the remaining 16 slots for invited battlers who may not have been as active in the qualifying month.
A totally invitational tournament is not a GC even if it carries a blue title. That's more like a Beastmode or Untouchables or All-Star tourney.

I think this would go nowhere at all... there just aren't enough good crews to compete.

Check the tournaments that were ran like that. It's not what you think.

The "Crew tournaments" that were ran in the official brackets before were more like a GC and end up with an individual winner. It's almost pointless to call it a crew tournament unless you're talking about something totally different.
