Ever since Letsbeef began, a king has sat atop the text battle throne.

But since... 2013 there has been no-one. The throne remained empty, Because none of you came to take it.

In the Golden Era, we saw Real Talk crowned as the first king, playing musical chairs with Illimit, MahVulus, Top Notch, LEFT FIELD and others. While the crown changed hands a bit, it still remained on SOMEBODIES head.

Then we hit 2009, when Jason, UNKNOWN ARTIST and MFD decided to takeover and not let anyone even near the castle gates. Not even near the damn moat OUTSIDE the castle. They tossed the crown back and forth for sport, but again the throne remained TAKEN.

The end of 2010 saw some new dude snatch and run with the crown, holding on to it for two years. This newcomer shared the spotlight at times with the resurgent reEFer, and his rival DaDDiO who took ahold of the seat of power for brief spells.

Then in 2012 we experienced the era of the comeback, once the old king of 2010 disappeared, old head Askari returned to claim the mantle for half the year and even class-of-2006 TalkSick grabbed a GC during this time, because no newcomer had the desire nor skill to stave off old heads, who easily stormed in and out of the castle without challenge.

And then 2013 kicked off the era of the king-less castle. The empty throne. All the heirs turned out to be unworthy or unwilling. Mikey DeNiro strolled up to the crown, threw it on for a month and then left it on the floor where he'd found it. The former king of 2010 returned briefly, stuck the crown on his head for a month and likewise discarded it.


And here we are, in 2014. The throne has been vacant for over a year, and nobody has stepped up to claim it. You people have lived in Letsbeefland for two years and failed to elect a leader. Arent any of you worthy? Is this generation of warriors THAT weak???

WHO will stand up and rescue this kingdom from crumbling?

WHO will step forward as THE champion of the land?

What annoys me is this "I'm retired" bullshit. ILLoKWENT always used to moan about it, then he got some motivated and won everything, now he's back to "probably not battling again" every time you talk to him. Man you're beating nearly everyone you face, and you have never won the GC, the fuck are you retiring for?

Bleu was another guy with a lot of momentum and it looks like he's headed in the same direction.

Dissizit no shows absolutely everything.

Grizz point blank passed all feedback off as hate.




I just want to see an active guy, capable of taking the next step, who is motivated to win the GC and capitalise on their momentum. Not everyone can be mediocre at text and still go down in LB history (:D). If you guys want to be remembered when you leave the site, or if you guys want to make this hobby have some lasting effect and potentially be remembered, then start carving out a legacy!

Personally, without tooting my own horn, I feel like I've had the potential to be huge this whole time. I'm only now realizing that in my own writing. I haven't had a chance to battle since I've been back outside of Row and the Illmania tag, but I'm gonna show in the One Bar and GC where I stand skill wise now. I'm convinced that I've got the formula down for a heavy verse.

The only problem I have with anyone claiming to be the king is no one active is THAT heavy right now. Not Illo, not Dissizit, not Grizz, no one. I dont care if you win a GC or the LBT. Illo would be the closest being he's beaten a lot of the new era dudes. But if you're in a GC with competition that's not good then whatever. To be the king you need to be taking everything. GC's, Schemes, One Bars, Tags. Everything, or at least getting final runs consistently. No one is that consistent yet in this Era. No one.

I mean TECHNICALLY speaking, @GRizzEAT is the King of Letsbeef...
