I fuck with Basketball BUT
Winning the NBA Championship does NOT make you world champions.
|
WORLD series in baseball
tha superbowl attracts tha most viewers in tha WORLD. Face it, wen u win in america, it accounts for tha world. |
Same goes for baseball and American Handegg
Have you heard of the world cup? The 1 where TEAMS from all over the WORLD face each other? Your team can't be world champions only facing teams from 2 countries. That would make you North American champions. Even Greg Popovic agrees how stupid it is to win the NBA and claim World Champions. |
tbh, i never understood it, but its jus how americans operate.. its brain washed since birth :o
|
they dominate the olympics 2... the bball clubs here full of dudes who couldnt even make a d league team in the NBA
|
|
man that shit is every 100 years ofc ppl gone pile to watch it. its like 2 billion ppl in china watching it alone. lolz.. watch out chicko..:high:

Lol yeah honestly just watch the Olympics and you'll get your answer. It's men vs. boys
|
Didn't Spain beat USA?
Also NBA teams are 2 for 2 against European teams so how you figure? The best club in the worl wins the Champions League but they aren't called World Champions they're called European Champions because the competition featured the best TEAMS in europe. Yall should call ya selves americanada champions |
The United States Has Won 14 Out Of 18 Gold Medals Since Basketball Was Introduced In The Olympics.
Even The Women's Team Has Won 7 Out Of 10 Games. FuckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt. |
lol this is dumb
yes winning an NBA title doesn't make you a WORLD champion the same way winning in MLB, NFL, & MLS doesnt but when we go to the olympics we shit all over everyone so hard its not even funny and the teams that stand the slightest chance are comprised of veteran NBA players like Serge Ibaka, Pau Gasol (Spain) & dudes like Luol Deng (Great Britain) & if NBA players call themselves 'world champions' its rightfully so because the worst NBA team in the league can probably fuck with the best basketball team from any given country unless you're talking olympics where all the NBA players play for their country thats different |
All I'm saying is the claim of world champions is silly, which you agree. I'm Not debating whether or not it's the best league because it obviously is. But to be world champions you have to compete against other teams around the world.

If I'm correct, someone here recently said Madden was the highest selling sports game (Think it was Pulse), and then he wondered if it might be FIFA. FIFA absolutely obliterates Madden every time. |
Quote:
That's why I corrected myself and was like FIFA Its weird because when I have a conversation with people I tend to bring up shit that I can relate to forgetting that people from all over the world be on here in the U.S. i'm sure Madden sells more so I said FIFA when I realized that FIFA is a global game |

Madden sells about 4times more I believe. |
You can't even find madden around here

The NBA is the highest skilled basketball league in the world... that's why they're considered world champions... Players from around the world (if they are good enough) come and play in the NBA. Including Europe & even communist China allows their players in the NBA, but they still tax the shit out of those players...
American Football... They are considered world champions because it is the highest skill american football league in the world as well.. Same with baseball.. America controls the highest skilled leagues & has the best players from all around the world participate... It's not just Americans in the NBA, NFL, MLB. And those players from other countries, go back to their countries to play in the Olympics aka Tony Parker, Pau Gasol, etc. No other league in the world fucks with these. ---------- Post added at 01:48 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:47 AM ---------- obviously, soccer is the most popular sport world-wide, but it's still fuck soccer for me. its a 3rd world sport IMo.. |
You're a dumb ass if you believe that that's a valid reason.
|
Actually I just realized they ARE world champions
Because even though they don't play against other countries...They draft the best players from other countries. For example, you could play for a team in Italy and still go to the NBA. & It's a step up because the NBA > FIBA Yao Ming was the #1 pick in 2002 & he was chillin in China when they drafted him |
Thats not how becoming world champion works. lol silly americans.
|
Its exactly how becoming a world champion works. I know you're big on soccer so let's put out a hypothetical situation.. Let's say the U.S. is known for soccer and we have all the best teams/players etc etc
If Messi, Ronaldo, Kaka, Rooney, & Persie are some of the best in their respective countries....and you send them to play in the U.S. for a team If, for example, Messi's team wins...they're world champions. They beat the cream of the crop because the league they're competing in is comprised of all the best players from all the countries in the world Kids right now in Africa, China, Russia etc wanna be in the NBA and they don't even have to step foot onto an American court because they can play in their respective countries and if they're good enough the scouts will notice & they'll become draft prospects the NBA is a worldwide league. It's an American sport and played in America.....but games are played in China & London too for the fans to see...People that dont even live in the U.S. can get recognized for their talents and drafted |
No. Because Ronaldo just won the Champions League, which is THE elite club (Franchise for Americans) competition in the world. But it is a European Competition. He was crowned a European Champion. Because it's held and played between teams Geographically European.
Le Bron won the NBA Championship. He's a North American Champion because it's held in North America. It's not about where the players in the TEAM come from. It never has been. It's about where the TEAM hails from/competes and who the player PLAYS for. It always has been. There is no I in team. The team comes first. It always has and it always will. Ronaldo will be a World Champion when A. He wins the upcoming World Cup with Portugal B. He wins the World Club Cup this January/December with Real Madrid (They qualify as the best team in europe after winning the Champions League I mentioned above. Le Bron will be a world champion if Basket Ball ever holds a basketball world cup. If the NBA ever agree to have the NBA champions (if it's the heat) compete against the winners of other leagues in the world. This has been proposed before but the NBA turned it down (they were the only organisation) No offense but Americans a generally very xenophobic/ignorant when it comes to sports. So I get it. you were raised to think a certain way. But your way of thinking is still wrong, because of logic. The logic I posted above. The logic which the rest of the world stands by so makes Americans look extremely arrogant when they call their national league winners, world champions. |
I'll simplify it as much as I can
You take the best players from Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina, etc Throw them into the U.S. And have them play against teams in the U.S. that are comprised similarly ie; the best of the best from around the world Well if you're somebody in the U.S. and you defeat a team that has the 3 best players from Brazil, who else is there to beat in Brazil? You just beat their 3 best players hence why NBA players can call themselves World Champions the geographic location doesn't have anything to do with it when players from around the world are accepted...the sport is based in the U.S... there's 30 franchises based on 30 U.S. cities because here's where the sport started. If somebody in China thinks they have what it takes to ball, U.S. players don't go to China to prove themselves, the Chinese come here The logic you posted above just clarifies that the NBA is an American sport played in North America but nowhere in that logic is my logic of worldwide acceptance and the best of the world playing in the NBA debunked. |
So you're saying other teams could compete w/ America from other parts of the world?
|
^The Olympics
We shit on people all the time and go back to playing regular NBA Spain's olympic team was only that good because its best players were NBA players that opted t play for Spain the same goes for Argentina & Great Britain Without NBA players opting to play for their country there would be absolutely 0 competition ....NBA is the WORLD STAGE for basketball. Geographically, ok, its within North American borders. But kids in China turnin on the TV to see whats goin on in the NBA kids in Europe turnin on the TV to see whats goin on in the NBA ^^& the best players from Europe & China dont play in Europe and China..they play in the NBA. making it a worldwide thing. the best of the best play here and the worst NBA team could probably easily beat the best team any country could conjure w/out including NBA stars playing for them You're lucky NBA players call themselves World Champions and not Universal Champions cuz deez niggas in a league of their own b and it's a joke to call them anything other than world champions when everyone else in the world is useless and irrelevant as far as basketball is concerned |
Logically Speaking If You're The Biggest Fish In The Pond, Wouldn't You Say You Own The Pond?
|
^Exactly......
'The U.S. can't call themselves world champions unless X and Y' the problem is the NBA shits so hard on other leagues and any other attempts of basketball leagues that there is no world championship because the best of the best automatically go to the NBA which by default makes it a world championship because the NBA is comprised of the best players from around the world nobody wants to see U.S. vs Great Britain or something because there's no fun in watching a team get blown out by 50 people might wanna see the Spurs vs OKC though the Spurs have one of the best Argentinian players in Ginobili, who will be a hall of famer..and a French player in Tony Parker, who will also be HOF. with a HOF coach... like I said, the best of the best already compete here no need for a world championship. once every 4 years is fine |
Nonsense.
And Obey. So you mean to tell me The American National Team has never lost to another nation? You're telling me that NBA teams aren't .500 in 4 against European teams? How do I know this and you don't? aren't you a b-ball fanatic or you just trying to ignore that fact. |

I have the perfect example.
America right now are probably the most consistent country in boxing. The NABF title is far from the World Championship. |
boxing is not a team sport. invaild.
Boxers may go to America for fights but they don't train there, practice there, join American crews. They stay and train in their respective countries with their own personal trainers & are scheduled to fight in various places. Plus in a years span they don't nearly have enough competitions to fight against all the top prospects. nice try tho |
I could example cricket, rugby any number of team sports. the same rules apply accross the board. You're the odd 1 out here, not me.
And btw I only NEED 1 example. I'm talking basketball and used "sock errr" as an example. |
Sorry NBA teams are 44-10 against all Euroleague teams but 12-7 when playing away from home. http://www.nba.com/global/games2013/...list.html#euro

For anyone saying MMA is not a team sport, they obviously know nothing about training camps. I've never heard a fighter refer to his strategy as "my strategy", they'll say "We had a plan and we executed it well". MMA fighters have training camps. They train there, practice there, join crews. They move countries to train. |
You also need to look into what rules were played in those games. As far as I'm aware Fiba and NBA rules differ. For instance you wouldn't get away with anywhere near as much traveling using Fiba rules and refs as you do NBA.
Lol That kinda makes a mockery of the NBA. We all know travelling should never be allowed. But hey they have to make it a spectacle extravaganza, right? |
