Some steps on bringing new active members to the site

Yo.. since i have been on some of the forums lately, on the basis of my analysis I'd like to make some points on how can we bring more active members to the site.

1. Target India and Africa :
Title is enough, I see loads of Indians and Africans (Specially Nigerians and Botswana rappers) coming in this Rap battle scene and staying active for long. Though, 4/10 guys have that potential to improve while the other 6 would at least help in boosting forum activities lol. So, targeting these members is the key. Now, the main problem in Nigeria and Botswana is most net connections are proxy based which doesn't allow them to signup on LB. Also, most Indians (on the basis of my experience on Facebook) think that the rappers on Letsbeef are too dope for them and they would keep losing battles lol.

2. Promoting LB on Facebook Groups :
Facebook is the place where most of the freestyle battles as well as other text battles happen, those battlers are willing to do audio/video battles but mostly judges there are too lazy to check soundclouds and youtubes and vote accordingly thats why such battles are generally slept. LB has a wonderful platform for audio/video battles and we all should spread the word from LB.

3. Promoting LB on other Sites : Most easy way, signup on other rap battle sites and promote LB there. We may easily get more members since LB has the best platform for battling. We all can link them some battles and show them how votes are hidden here and how things are kept fair at its best.

4. Referral Contests? : Pretty much good idea.. unless someone makes 10 fake id's to win lol. But we can avoid such shit by keeping restrictions like, the referral would be only counted once the referred guy completes at least 5 battles and 10 forum posts. We may make the rank table and the guy with highest referrals at the end of the month gets something.

5. Conducting Events Together : We may approach admins of other websites and offer them to conduct events together. For e.g. A video battle event. Battles would be conducted on Letsbeef, all participants must be members of our as well as their site and battles would be posted on both sites as well as promoted on facebook pages of both sites but would be judged on letsbeef since we got better video section. This would be beneficial to both the sites and once such events with that "Rise Together" slogan are successful may be we may get more such sites asking us to conduct such collab events.

Thats all that came to my mind lol... drop your views and ideas on it . Thanks

One big way of getting noticed is getting some artists signed or getting a big artist to shout us out...

if that happened site activity would go up massively. But all the ideas above are good. Im gonna try and get some clubs to play our shit and if someone can make me a graphic I will put a big ine on my track car.

1. I have a problem with. I've been on those Facebook groups, and specifically the Nigerian ones, they are just insanely clueless. They also speak absolutely no sense as everything is in 14 year old girl text language.

DUKE ~RRR~ 02-14-2014 03:55 AM

good luck with that forums have been dying off for quite some time this isn't 2005ish anymore and it hasn't looked like x or whoever owns this site now has really looked to give the site a huge facelift plus the crew beefs don't look that active anymore and those usually sparked alot of forum activity

1. 2005? LB was it's most active a full 2 years after that.

2. Pugz currently owns the site, and is very active. They are currently trying to edit the site and give it a new skin, although I have to say, they did a terrible job at it, and currently just broke the top of the current skin. I've seen the main one though and it's...okay.

3. Crew beef in 2013 is the best it has been since 2008.

METH_BARZ 02-16-2014 02:40 AM

they just need to give it a whole new facelift and do away with the skin in general it's been cool but its time to switch shit up a little bit have had the same skin/ similiar skin for as long as I've been here or at the very least at least add another and give a skin choice bar at the bottom of the page

Denton 02-16-2014 02:45 AM

Space Aids. Anyways More members would be nice

Vegeta 02-16-2014 05:26 AM

@Tha Dope Man yeah lol.. even i am not good on mic... its because of our accent..

@METH_BARZ the girls ass in ur avy is hot tho

I've been saying this since 2009 as well.

Fix the few mistakes.
Change skin.
Sorted.

Money invested in the site is going to the radio. Why? Give Pseudo deadlines to fix everything and pay the man when he does.

LilMiSsK 02-17-2014 01:12 AM

Give members the option to change the skin color. Honestly when i saw this skin I got tired for some reason. I know a bunch of close friends that are models, journalists and promoters to some of the biggest news websites in the world. I could try talking them into doing articles on this site but they're going to be like "What's in it for them?" kinda stuff.

I agree with this wholeheartedly, multiple websites utilize the multiple skin system & it works out great. Take a website like 4chan for example, at any time you can change from the initial Yotsuba skin to more dark ones depending on your preference. If we wanted to just to the complete basics for this, you could have the same exact skin as we have now & simply bring more vibrant colors into the mix. This would be user-controlled and not a mandatory change so that if you enjoy the current LB skin there's no confliction. Not only would this add more user personalization/customization but it would also bring more happiness within the community from those, like you MissK who have a distaste for the current skin.

Saxx 02-17-2014 04:25 AM

Haven't got a problem with the skin tbh.

I think guys should focus less on bringing new people to the site as they appear every day. Its keeping the one's we have thats the problem. I've only stayed here due to people saying I got potential etc but other guys do a few drops and think they are shit and can't rap and just give up. There should be more people willing to teach and the crews should be doing more with their members. I've just left mine as all my elevation has been done because of my work and not rhe crew's. Also half the people in the crew ain't even active.

Vegeta 02-17-2014 11:48 AM

A video cypher section would be a dope idea to be honest

also the skin thing.. i feel doesnt matter until the site is doing the good work.. well, yeah it needs to be changed but its not a necessity in my opinion

LilMiSsK 02-17-2014 05:04 PM

The fastest way would be to go to facebook groups :)

Our facebook page has 4000+ Likes.

Also, Money isnt necessarily going to the radio @UnEtHiCaL because i still pay for it out of pocket

Hubert Cumberdale 02-17-2014 09:08 PM

Then I have to ask, where is the money going?

We don't pay for coding.
We don't advertise.
It's not going to the radio.
We don't offer cash prizes.

You have to wonder why people would donate, if there is seemingly nothing in return.

I'd really like to know this too, I'm not sure how much the actual website costs but I doubt it eclipses the income coming from exclusive members/donators.
